Does anyone have dish?

I lowered our cox bill but it still seems like we pay so much for nothing. A friend of ours just got dish and is really happy with it. They said if they lose service for more than 10 minutes in a 2 month span their bill that month is free. I haven't looked into it but that is my main concern is losing service during storms.

I'm wondering if you like their service and also if DVR is included because I did not see that online either.

Re: Does anyone have dish?

  • We have DirectTV and really like it.  We have only lost service a couple times in the last year, and it was during absolute downpours and only for a few minutes.
  • I was wondering about this as well! Cox is so expensive and we don't even have DVR, it would cost almost an extra 20 dollars to add it!!! Urghh...for those of you who don't have Cox, where do you get Internet service as well?
  • We have DirectTV and LOVE it!!  We have only had it since September but haven't had any issues yet.  From everyone I have talked to that has it, they don't lose service for very long, if at all.  Oh...and even though I think the price is only locked in for a year (and can only go up a limited amount in year 2) it is SO worth it.  Dirt cheap.  And we got in when they were offering free NFL Sunday ticket, which is a major bonus!
  • Exactly what brynners said. Oh and I just called Century Link to get quotes on internet and we can bundle with Direct TV and since we have Verizon we can bundle that too. An extra $5 off for each!

  • We have century link for internet, but we have dish network. We've had them for the last 5 years, and when we moved we could have saved $10/month by bundling with Century Link and Direct, but since we were so used to dish and never had any problems with them we decided to stick with them.

  • We have gone back and forth between Dish and Cox. Moved in, had Cox, then Dish, back to Cox and finally back to Dish. We really like Dish and haven't had any problems. Our bill is around $60 including DVR and I think around 250 channels including movie channels. I think DH also added some kind of football package.

We just got tired of the price of Cox never being the same and getting out of hand. It's worth looking in to. I think you get some type of referral bonus off your bill (I could be wrong) so if you want to use my name it's worth a shot. PM me if you need to :)

  • We still have Cox for internet.  I have email addresses linked to my Cox account that I don't want to lose.

Ditto Holly, if you decide to go with DirectTV send me a PM, you and I would both get a referral bonus! ;)

  • We have DirectTV. We had Cox but our bill became out of control. I think we've only had the weather mess with the dish one or two times. We're pretty happy with it. We kept Cox for internet, though.
  • With Dish--- do you have BBCAmerica or BBC?
