Ugh. I hated this episode. I hated the Ted/Marshall story line and I hate the Robin hurt Barney. Boo, HIMYM, boooooooo.

Re: HIMYM 11/14 *spoilers*
sidenote - Robin looked fantastic tonight!
but yeah, that look at the end was so sad. I wonder if Ted will even remember seeing Barney clean up the rose petals.
Same here. I can't believe Robin screwed him over like that.
Lilly looked terrible tonight.
Yes! I even said that to MH. Also, what Kevin said to Robin was very sweet. I still hate it, but it was sweet.
I thought the Ted and Marshall storyline was hilarious. When they played back the two minute video I lol'd.
I like Kal Penn a lot, but damn damn damn Robin!! Seeing Barney put himself out there and then watch his best friend beat him down was awful.
This! I really wanted them to get back together, but now I want him to find someone new and never bother with her again.
WTF! Robin is on the crap list for sure! H and I were so rooting for Barney and Robin and then she goes pulls something like this
It was so sad to see him picking up the rose petals at the end. I love Barney!
Grrrr... I feel the same way. Robin is going to regret the decision then it will be too late because Barney will have moved on.
I thought the Marshall/Ted parts were so funny! When they played the tape back..."It's a sign." I love any episodes with the sandwiches.
This has been the best episode in a while. I laughed a lot at the Ted/Marshall/sandwiches storyline.
I found myself really interested in the Barney/Robin storyline, surprisingly. I'm glad Barney came clean and broke it off with Nora, instead of being a dirtbag and lying about it. I was SUPER surprised that Nora asked him if it meant anything to him ... I thought that implied that she'd be willing to work it out if it was just a fling, which is really out of character for her, especially considering that Barney had to jump through hoops to win her back in the first place.
Anyway, I'm glad she's out of the picture because I never saw what made her so special. She and Barney had zero chemistry. I always felt like the Nora storyline was just filler material. I hope she doesn't come back.
Robin's just a jerk. She's always played mind games with men and she's got to cut it out. Maybe find a REAL therapist and work through all her problems. I was screaming at the TV, "THAT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING!" when Kevin went into the speech about how some things may need to be said but don't need to be heard (um, what?). That was such a cheap way to get Robin to stay with Kevin.
I LOVED this episode. I always like this show but last night was the best in a long time.
How does that not mean anything? He's aware that there's something hanging out there but doesn't want to know what it is. Her telling him will make her feel better but what does it do for the people that got hurt? He loves her and is willing to overlook it, why does he have to hear the gory details?
Yeah, I agree with this. I mean, I get why she did that to Barney. Who wants to build (or re-build) a relationship based on someone saying they like you because you're almost as screwed up as he is? Robin aspires to have a better relationship with that. I want her and Barney together, but, when they did the flashback of the speech Kevin gave, I got it. I definitely cried for Barney. But, we still have a wedding to get to, so, there is a lot more that's going to happen.
I want to know who Barney ends up with. like today. I have a feeling this is going to take awhile.... I was thinking it was going to be Nora when she was first introduced, but now I have no idea... maybe we haven't met her either? Poor Barney.
I just didn't get why he would tell her to just keep her mouth shut, since something was clearly bothering her. I would think that, as a therapist, he'd be AGAINST someone bottling up her emotions like that. I get that he's fallen in love with her and he's willing to let her make a clean start (since I guess he knows that she's really screwed up emotionally over a lot of things), but I don't think it's fair to Kevin that Robin banged some other dude (especially one that she sees on a daily basis and who hangs out with Kevin) only the day before and now everything is hunky dory between them.
I guess the point of all that was supposed to be that Barney said he liked her because she's just as fuccked up as he is, whereas Kevin likes her because of who she is. I think that's a valid reason to choose Kevin over Barney, but I don't think it brings any closure as to why Robin wanted to get back together with Barney in the first place. Does she really love him, or is this just a product of her being confused about her whole entire life?
I kind of like where they're going with all this, but I feel like there could've been a better way to get them all to this point. A lot of the details just feel sloppy.
I liked Ted and Marshall's story line. It was terribly well-acted, but it was funny.
Robin's hair looked great. I really wished she hadn't hurt Barney. I wonder how that's going to impact the dynamic of the group.
Not only is it someone she has a history with, is still friends with, but Barney is also the reason she was in therapy and met Kevin in the first place. I don't get how everything is WONDERFUL between Kevin and Robin when he knows that there is a secret between them, and she knows that its on her conscience too.
I'm wondering if this was part of the "evolution of Barney" that ends up getting us to his wedding. He has realized what kind of things he's looking for in a relationship (a la the montage at Nora's apartment), and is willing to do the right thing.
Obviously I don't think that this is the end of this storyline since Ted saw him cleaning up and generally the writers have intention for their scenes.
I am wondering if this is going to lead to what Victoria said. That their dynamic can't work out forever.. and Ted (narrator Ted) said it doesn't... I wonder if this is the start of the end. The Robin ruined it for everyone. and Barney finds someone else, or something to lead to the wedding... Lily and Marshal have a baby and go their own way... Robin and Kevin go their own way. Ted and Barney stay close up to Barney's wedding where Ted meets the mother.
They all get back together for the wedding, but it is not the same group... maybe?
I wont lie, I totally wanted Robin/Barney together.. but I am so angry with Robin and so sad for Barney! Kevin and Robin CAN'T stay together!! as PP said, Kevin is a therapist and knows all of Robin's issues relate to Barney.
ok- sorry. that got long! I'm too invested in this show!!
Does he, though? I don't remember her ever discussing Barney in her sessions with Kevin (or even when they were dating), but please correct me if I'm wrong because I just can't remember what exactly she talked about during her sessions with him.
Here's a synopsis of the episode where she meets Kevin and explains why she "doesn't need therapy" and that it's court mandated.

I was just coming back to post something along these lines. I think this is what it's all working up to.
