QOTD Tuesday (Happiness)

Yesterday we talked about our worries. Today we'll talk about the brighter side of things.

What makes you smile and and brings you a lot of happiness right now? Feel free to AW with stories, PIPs, etc.

Re: QOTD Tuesday (Happiness)

  • Lots of things make me smile these days.

The little flutters after lunch that might just be the baby.

Seeing Chloe all curled up/sprawled out in front of the fire.

Looking into the new kitchen and seeing all of Derek's amazing, yet hard work.

Curling up in front of the fireplace with a good book.

  • Knowing that I get to spend a week with my DH, vs 1 or 2 evenings if I am lucky.

Seeing the boys learn new things. Ex. Christian grabbed the Swifter broom this morning, and was cleaning the floors. He even went as far as bending down, putting it under the couch to clean. Ummm he's hired!

Listening to Zach try to sing the Elmo song with mommy.

Watching the boys interact with one another, and love to see it when they hug each other. Melts my heart all the time.

    These boys amaze me everyday.

  • I'm happy I have my husband. He's just awesome, full stop.

I'm happy I get to write for a living now.

I'm happy I get to read and review books for a visible, public forum. Just to AW, here's the site: http://www.wirobooks.com (I'd link to a review of mine, but since we have lurkers and my full name/job is on there, I'm nervous about that.)

I'm happy we're going to Michigan for Christmas. It's been a long time.

I'm happy I chucked aside my fear and signed up for a half-marathon in the spring. Who knows, maybe I can beat my old half-mary time.

  • Of course my kids. I love to watch the kids play together. When preston doesn't feel good or gets hurt Jordan gets upstet and hugs him and rocks him. He always says its okay bubba is here. The love he has for his brother amazes me. Preston can be throwing a fit and mad at the world and Jordan can walk in the room and smile at him he immeditatly stops. When we get to my moms in the afternoon Preston says bubba from the time we get out of the car until he finally sees him.

I love to watch Preston explore he is actually walking now and he is trying so hard to talk. he points and jabbers for minutes at a time. He knows what he wants, but I can't understand a word he says. it is so funny.

  • After four years of trying, we got tickets to the lighting of the National Christmas Tree this year.

Jim was able to get Thanksgiving off.  I was putting on a brave face, but this was really bumming me out.

One major work hurdle got resolved yesterday.  Well, a decision was made at least so we can go forward.

I had enough sales at my Thirty-one party to get $55 worth of free stuff.

  • Oooh, good question.

I have a great DH who keeps me grounded and we have fun together.

I have a great job that I really enjoy.

I have a wonderful and supportive family, who lives nearby, and we get to spend time together.

Mies is absolutely crazy and makes me laugh ALL THE TIME.  Yesterday, he tried to get on the threadmill with me, went flying into the hallway, and then came back and looked at me like, "oh that was fun, let's do it again."

  • My husband, for sure. He's amazing.

A new book and a pot of tea.

Being in drama class and watching my students come into their own. Makes me so happy to be a part of their transformations.

  • My husband rocks my socks off. He never stops amazing me.

Cooking. I love the relaxation of it.

A new book on a rainy day, snuggling under blankets.

    Traveling

Getting good mail, and not bills

    Pumpkin anything.

  • Great question.  I didn't get in on the worries post yesterday, but I have a lot right now so I like to focus on the smiles!

    - Our trip back to NYC in a few weeks.  It's been almost 1.5 years since I've been back and I'm really looking forward to seeing family and friends (regardless of the whine you'll undoubtedly hear from me in a few weeks!).

    - The Christmas decorations have gone up all around the city, and I love it!

    - It's still a ways off, but our do-absolutely-nothing-somewhere-warm trip in January

    - Finally being able to hit some decent golf balls after a few lessons.  I love it when it goes in a nice straight arc.

  • My amazing husband that would do anything for me.

Everything Christmas! I'm getting so excited for family time and traditions. shopping, decorations, music, movies, food, cookies....everything. I love Christmas time so much!

Seeing our house come together piece by piece. I can't wait to get the granite fireplace surround and the new tile entryway put in.

  • My husband is my life. He really showed me what a strength he is for me when I was in the hospital for so long.

My son is more amazing every day. I'm not a super gaga mom, which worries me sometimes, but he's still blowing my mind every day that he is something we created.

My furbabies make my life whole. I still miss my Kirra every day, but it's nice to have the others around to soften the blow for a bit.

My family that is so close and supportive of one another. My DH's family is so resentful and petty, and I'm glad that I don't have that to deal with. I'm also glad that my family has taken DH into their craziness.

  • Darian's smiles and giggles. I love seeing him figure out new things.

    V's support and strength.

My relationship with my mom... it's improved so much since Darian was born.

Sherlock (who now responds to "Buddy" or "Kittay") - watching him bask is so peaceful when everything else is so hectic. And I love how he's slowly getting to know Darian.

And I'm loving the new show Once Upon A Time!

  • - My daughter. She is truly the light of my life and now I understand what parents were always gushing about.

    - My wonderful husband. He is the most amazing husband and father. I could not have hoped for a better father for my kids. Parenting is truly a team effort and I could not do it without him. He helps with all the parenting responsibilities and it truly amazes me how great he is. Seeing him with our daughter makes my heart melt all the time.

    - I'm happy for all the blessings we have, including our family and friends, our health, our jobs and our new home. I can't ask for much more than that.

  • Things that make me happy:
-My hubby. I feel so lucky to have such an amazing man. He is very quirky, witty and knows just what to do to get me laughing.
-Rocco. She is pretty quirky herself. She tends to know when we need love and curls up on our lap loving on us. She is just so sweet and playful I can't get enough of her.
-I know this is long off but I am so excited that in a years time there is a chance that I could be pregnant. I am so excited we settled on a time we can start TTC and I so look forward to it.
-Curling up on the couch in a cozy blanket and tea. It is the perfect kind of weather for that.
-CHRISTMAS!!!! I am so excited about all the decorations and everything going on!

  • -I'm so happy to be living closer to my mom (insert girly tears here, I'm that happy). She's lived three hours away from me for the last five years, and now she's a quick 30 minute drive. I'm so excited to be able to drive over for dinner and be home the same night.

-I'm also happy to be living within a mile of both of my brothers. There is a 14 and 16 year difference between me and them, so it's hard to have a relationship. Now that I'm older and we're all getting closer to the same places in our lives, we can start spending more time together and hopefully get a little closer.

-I'm happy about my new house. It's a huge mess right now because A.) Literally nothing has been unpacked and B.) BF's sister threw a massive party when she lived here and decided not to clean up much after she left so now we get to do it. But it's our and we get to do whatever we want to it.

-I'm happy to (hopefully) go back to working during the day. I've been doing overnights for the last five years and my sleep and health have suffered because of it. It's been so nice sleeping at night when it's dark, like normal people do.

-Life in general. It was a rough year with my divorce, but I would go through it all over again to be where I am right now. I'm so happy with where I am, physically and mentally, and I'm glad I was brave enough to get out of my marriage instead of staying. I had gotten to the point where I was sleeping all the time to avoid my life. Now I'm awake.

  • Luckily I feel pretty happy most of the time...I have a lot of good in my life.

--DH...who puts up with me being totally crazy and takes care of me.

--My friends...I have a really great, supportive IRL friends...it isn't a huge group, a couple from high school and a couple from work, but I can trust them and I know that they will support me.

--My family...my parents are wonderful and DH and I both get along really well with them, which is nice.  We can go away with them and all enjoy ourselves.

--My students...who drive me totally nuts sometimes, but who consistently make me laugh and make me want to be better.

--My job...on top of just my students, I really love my job.  There are times when I go a little nuts, but I work in an overall very supportive school with a talented faculty.  We may disagree sometimes, but we really are all there for the kids.  And with a new superintendent this year who is great, things are looking even better.

--My dogs...who make me laugh and are adorable.

--Running...it keeps me sane and makes me feel strong and healthy.
