You are breaking my heart with all your kitty "pins". Are you doing okay?

Re: *Starlet*

  • I know, aren't they all precious though?  I wish I had a better camera and took better pictures of Winky.

I'm doing okay, we picked up her ashes on Friday, and it was just tragic.  They also included a tuft of her hair and her paw prints in a clay ornament.  And the vet's office wrote us a really sweet card.  I have the hardest time at home because we only lived in that house with her, so it feels really empty and everything reminds me of her.

  • Oh, that is so sweet of the vet! I'm glad you're doing a little better at least. I know I'll be an absolute wreck when that time comes for my cats so I feel for you big time.

My friend used to paint really cool pictures - she used the pet's ashes mixed with paint to paint a picture (either of the pet or of something that reminded you of the pet). If you want her contact information let me know. I haven't talked to her in years, but I think she's on my facebook.

  • Wow, that's an interesting idea!  My mom already painted me a picture of her, so I don't think I need another one.

I keep wondering what I should do with her ashes.  I want to sprinkle some at our house before we move, and some at my mom's house where she lived most of her life, but I'll probably just keep the rest.  Mostly, it's just hard to grasp the fact that the ashes are her...it just doesn't seem possible.

  • I know what you mean about the ashes. My grandparents were creamated and it was so odd to think that the little boxes had their ashes. I think sprinkling them around would be really sweet. Maybe you can sprinkle them with some cat nip!
