Re: IN Get Fit Challenge!

  • I feel like I'm still stalled in the weight loss area.  I'm back to counting calories for a few weeks to jumpstart myself again, but it's slow going.

QOTD:  I used to think the number on the scale was the best way, but now I focus more on how my clothes are fitting, and by how quickly I'm out of breath while exercising.

  • I'm not on the list but I thought I'd reply anyway. It's always been the number on the scale or on the tag in my clothes, but lately, I've been trying to keep in mind that it's also about how my muscles ache after workouts, how my skin looks when I'm eating better/drinking more water, how I can do more sit-ups, lift more weight, etc. The out of breath thing is a definite sign!
  • Hi. I'm at the 25lb lost mark and maintaining my two dress size loss but no further progress as last week I got a cold and put my back out but I'm back to the gym today. I just have a hacky cough left. QOTD: I measure mostly by the scale, secondly by clothes tags and general health by my skin. I can tell if I'm hydrated by my energy levels. If I don't drink enough water I'm wiped out the next day.
  • Just got home from a run. :)

QOTW: By the way my clothes fit and endurance. So far since I started running in September, I've really noticed a difference in both.

  • I'm struggling. A lot. I just got the go-ahead from my physio to start some light workouts at the gym so am rejoining and will go TOMORROW. no excuses! i'm not allowed to jog yet and that made such a huge, huge difference in my life so it's just all a bit upsetting. am really hoping i can drop this weight (have gained 7 lbs in the last few months) plus a few more to get me back on track. it's just been really difficult to focus lately.

QODT: i obviously keep track of the number but i really notice how my clothes fit (or don't as in right now) and how i do walking around with my DH. He is in really great shape and we walk a lot so I really notice when I'm focussed on working out that I can keep up!

  • I've been doing fairly well lately.

With all the stress of moving or not moving to India, exploring fertility options,  finding out my grandma has cancer and is moving to hospice and helping plan my brother two-week whirlwind wedding the only thing I can control is my exercising. The more stressed I am, the better I am at going to the gym.

QOTD:  I don't monitor myself really, I just go by how I feel and how my clothes fit.

Can you please change my screen name from Mrs DRJ to Coffee & Cream?  Thanks!

  • Onesly, I think I mentioned last post that I had an update, I can't remember what it was, lol, but I'm pretty sure I changed it.  Thanks :)

I'm indirectly (and accidentally, really) doing okay with my goals of staying active.  I've started working at a new location for the holiday season (same company) and over the last couple days using my pedometer, I've calculated that just at work, I'm walking an average of 5 miles throughout the day.  Always at a quick pace as well.

I put it out there and registered for a 10K this Sunday.  It'll be my second one -- and I'm going to work directly after.  Really excited, looking forward to getting the mileage in and starting on some fundraising for a half marathon to help my stepsister :D
