NEW JOB!!!
Ok, so back in February I started, what I thought was going to be a great job. I was completely lied to in the interviews and took the job thinking it was one thing and it is totally different and a horrible fit for me. So I started interviewing for jobs back in educational fundraising (which is what I have been doing for 12 years). I started the process in June. I was a finalist for 2 great positions and it went to the other candidate in both cases.
I was getting frustrated, because in the past when I have been a finalist, I have gotten the job. But, I know the economy sucks and there are a lot more applicants so I tried to keep a good attitude and figure it was part of the process.
Today, I just got a call from an art college I have been interviewing at (and I went to theatre school, so I love the idea of being at an art school). Job offer!! Nice pay raise. 15 minute commute (as opposed to my current 60 minute each way commute). Better benefits. Better time off. And less insane people (I've confirmed this with a vendor I am friends with who does business there).
I seriously can't wait!!
