As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. DH is still alive
I didn't kill him.
I actually felt like a real jerk on Friday evening because he came home from work and was able to restore all my files and fix the USB.

Phew! I was worried.
I hate it when DH messes with my computer, too, or just does technologically advanced things. Like yesterday, I sent him a document (as an attachment) for him to edit, and he sent it back and told me to edit it in the browser so we could "share" it more easily. I had to sign up for some account and then I was having problems with the formatting and blah blah blah! Why did he have to throw a learning curve at me when I was already having trouble with this document?!
Rant over.
Anyway, I'm glad your DH fixed it!
whew, I was worried for him!
now tell him to never do that again!!!
DH is guilty of that offense as well from time to time. Glad to know I'm not alone!!

At least he was able to restore everything for you - I can't imagine losing all my files even temporarily.
