Re: Sunny Tuesday randoms
Is it nice out? It was freezing this morning.
How are you feeling?
I just ate a banana for the first time in months. It was delicious. I didn't realize how much I had missed bananas.
Since berry season began in early summer, I instituted a "local fruit only" rule at our house. Apples are obviously still available... but I broke down and bought bananas this week. And they are delicious.
We like bananas in our house too.
It's actually the very very very last thing I put in my cart because once Tennyson sees them and realizes he cannot have one, he has the meltdown of the century. It's awful. (And no, my Meijer does not have the kid/jar/buy a fruit for shopping thing. I've looked.)
It's supposed to get to 60 degrees today. And then in the low 40s starting tomorrow. Get it while you can.
Chymes, I'm sorry you don't feel well. Vitamin up, and rest.
Kasa, bananas are a staple in this house. I know there's evil afoot in the banana empire, but that's one I'm covering my eyes on. Delicious, and great for baking substitutions.
Yeah... I'm relatively particular about my food choices, but I certainly don't have the energy or the time to do it perfectly. We all make certain allowances.
H told me last night that the owner of his company is coming up to the area today to "fire a bunch of people."
I'm nervous.
That does sound nerve-wracking! Hope everything goes okay.
Mol, I hope Des is wrong, and if he's not, I hope Des isn't affected at all.
Chymes, hope your tickle doesn't turn into anything!
D&M, I hope everything stays OK for your husband's job. Eek! Keep us posted.
Wop, Drivers are serious idiots these days! I had someone tailgaiting me, so I pulled into the right lane. Well, they decided to pull into that lane too right at the same time and got all huffy at me for pulling in front of them. I was trying to get out of their way! GEEZ!
GRSP...Poor Arlo, hope everything turns out OK
Poor Arlo. I hope he feels better soon!
Oh friends... this is funny stuff. God Bless Jimmy Fallon:

Oh, man, I just had some major flashbacks to second grade.
Not long ago Ben threw a holy tantrum over bananas, so I gave him one so I could finish shopping. When I got to the register I had him weigh the bananas, then take 1 banana off the bunch and reweigh the single one, to charge me for the one Ben ate. I had to explain my logic to the cashier like 3 times before he understood, then he said, "really? It's not a big deal. It's just a banana" LOL. I paid for it though, to make my conscience feel better.
GRSP, hope the pups feel better!
I am making an appt for Meeko to be put down as soon as Adam gets home from hunting
The neighbor said to take her to the humane society because it's cheaper, but she's like a kid to us. I'm not really interested in a discounted dog death
Plus he said they didn't get to stay with the dog, they just dropped theirs off and left. I can't do that to poor Meeko.
If anyone is interested the new trailer for The Hanger Games movie is out.

Ha!! Made DH laugh. I started playing it and he heard it and asked who was trying to sing like Jim Morrison and then stated reading rainbow? WTF!?? I had to explain after that.
School has tons of free candy. Pretty much everyday one of our database or bar prep reps has a dish full of candy out. They know what we need.
It's little things like this and the free coffee in the dean's office that keep us alive.
It sounds like you're doing the right thing for Meeko and your family. Thinking of you.
I just schooled someone on the difference between "deer season," "firearm season," and "firearm deer season."
I know way too much about hunting for someone who doesn't believe in it.
I'm glad that you've made the decision. I hope you get some good snuggles in between now and then.
Ohhh...so hard. But it's for the best and you are honoring Meeko in this decision. I'll be thinking of you guys.
My husband never watched Reading Rainbow. I remember the day I sang the theme song to him and he looked at me like I had a second head. He had never heard it before. It was a sad day.
Also, now I'm worried about Arlo, too.
What?! A childhood w/out Reading Rainbow?! He was robbed.
Arlo is not at all interested in rice tonight. But he wants the dog food Greta got. I'm not chancing it. When Jim gets home, I'm going to ask him to cook some chicken for Arlo. Just can't do it. He's acting just fine otherwise. Running outside, jumping on the bed when asked... Thanks for your well wishes for him, friends.
