Christmas tree question

How much of a buffer is there between your tree & ceiling?

Re: Christmas tree question

  • Right now without my Angel topper on the tree there is about 3 feet between the tree and the ceiling.  Being that I had to have the 9 foot tree there is only one spot in our house it really fits in, but that's okay because I love it and I grew up with a big tree and want our kids to get the same experience. E and I were actually talking today how its in the perfect spot for the our future children to sneak out of their rooms and see if Santa came without even walking down the stairs!

  • From our Hibiscus topper it's about 4 feet.

  • I think last year there was about a foot between the ceiling and the tree.  It's a good thing we didn't get the taller tree like I wanted.
  • With the topper, about 2-3 feet.

  • Within inches

  • Considering the fact that my Christmas tree is less than 2 feet tall, at least 8 feet.

  • With our current tree it's like 4 feet, even with the topper. I'm hoping to convince C we need a bigger one, since he's taller than our current tree.

I'd prefer to keep at least 1-2' buffer, especially since we know we'll be moving and who knows what the ceilings in our next place will be.

  • We've always done the within inches thing too so I'm surprised with all of the x amount of feet answers.

  • What buffer?

  • As little as possible. Usually millimeters. Typically our tree is too tall for the room and we end up cutting it further until it fits.

  • Just because I want to share when I was little my parents had a 17 foot tree one year! They have 38 feet ceilings so there was still plenty of room.

This is my Christmas tree dream!  I LOVE the way big trees look.

This is the reason that they have always had a large fake tree since then because they could never find a real one that big after that!

This is one time I would make an exception for a fake tree.  That and I don't think we'll ever have a car big enough to transport a 17 foot tree back to our house.
