So as a kid, I'm sure we all kept secrets from our parents. I know I have shared some of those secrets with them as adults.
What are some secrets you kept and finally have revealed?
Mine: I would open my Christmas presents under the tree to see what they were before Christmas. I would also snoop through the entire house looking for any gifts hidden. This always happened from the time I got home and before they came home from work which was always about 1.5 hours difference. On the gifts I unwrapped, I would just peel the tape a little and then tape it back up.
Till this day, my DH will not hide presents in the house because I will snoop. The family will also not let me touch any presents under the tree because i have a habit of looking under the tree to snoop what boxes are mine. Even my inlaws have caught on.
Re: Confessions to our Parents as Adults
I'll bite.....
I admitted to my parents that I drank in high school. They didn't freak out, but would have at the time.
Oh, and that alcohol in my trunk/closet was mine. Not the random friend that I blamed it on.
Otherwise, I swear I was a pretty decent kid. No actual trouble to speak of and good grades. Let's not discuss college, ok.
thanks to jennied
We just confessed about a year ago to my parents me and my sisters little secrets that we have kept for awhile.
About 4 times a week we would head to bed and about 15 mins later come down and ask for tylenol or ibuprofen saying we had a "headache". We would alternate. My parents never questioned. They would typically give it to us and we would stash it upstairs and never take it....however, the reason behind this was we would get in the fridge to get a drink to take the meds and we would sneak a pop. We would then take it upstairs and share with the other sibling and stay up til wee hours of the night playing nintendo sugared up on pop. My dad would drink so much pop anyways that 1 pop 4 times a week wouldnt be suspicous.
We lived 4 miles from town and in the summer my mom would take us 2 times a week to go swimming and if we wanted to go anymore we had to ride our bikes there and back (total of 8 miles). My grandpa lived in between us and town so we would ride our bikes the mile to our grandparents and they would take us in and pick us up and then we would ride the mile home
Mom and Dad never knew!
The only other one I can think of is we would take elmers glue and cover our hands in it and let them dry and then peel it off. I think they knew about this, not sure as a whole bottle of elmers glue gone in like a week would have been pretty suspicous!
Wow, the secrets we had...nothing really horrible though
I would be shocked if my parents didn't know what I did growing up. I was at the top of my class, an athlete, etc so they didn't have a ton to worry about. I drank but they weren't dumb--they knew...the MIP I got didn't help to hide that anyway
I never snuck out, they knew all my friends, etc.
I may have had a party or two my senior year that they don't know about....
