Pan Am 11/13

For those of us who have stuck with this show, what did you all think of this past week's episode?

I thought it was the best one, so far.  I loved that Kate's CIA storyline was on the backburner (at best) and that some of the others got more attention.

I loved the cockpit scenes this episode too!!

Re: Pan Am 11/13

  • I'm now hooked on this show too.  I really hope it does not get cancelled.

I agree with all of your points.  I liked seeing Kate with something other than the CIA thing.  It was a good episode overall.

  • I've been LOVING this show from the beginning!

I liked this week's episode, and I love how they deal with real issues that were around back then or even still around today. And I love that Dean and Colette finally kissed! I really like them together, but I wonder if he'll ever find out what happened to his ex or if Kate will ever be found out either.

Christina Ricci's character cracks me up, but I love all 4 girls and how they work together.

The only thing I find unrealistic is how it's the same captain crew and stewardess crew on every flight like they always fly together everywhere and have the same schedules. But it's what makes sense for the show.

  • I missed the end, but enjoyed it up until I fell asleep (me falling asleep isn't related to how entertaining the show is ;-) ).  I like it when they put the show into a historical situation. They should do more of that.

  • I loved it!   I am also hoping they don't cancel the show.

This is my favorite part of the show. My favorite episode so far has still been the Berlin episode but I love how they infuse the historical events within this show. That's the history geek in me coming out I guess.

I agree with pps that it was so nice to see Kate in a story line outside of the CIA thing.

I hope it doesn't get cancelled because I am hooked.

  • I hated it. Worst so far for me. The Berlin episode was the best. Why does the show not name it's episodes by the city they are traveling to?

This episode was so hokey to me. I mean, landing in Haiti bc a guy is having a heart attack then sending Collete and what's his name into the jungle with two guys w/riffles? Oh, ok.....

Then having all the passengers leave their luggage after they were nearly held hostage (which would have made for a WAY BETTER episode)!!!!! Dean stepping in and saving lives!!! Taking a bullet for Collette!!!!! Instead he hardly tried to keep her from going to the jungle to find a doctor for heart attack guy. I know Iknow she speaks French, but still.....

I just think the writter did not go far enough and it was unrealistic. I was not impressed.

Bringing the Hatian girl back was the best part, Kate leaving the dead guy to "lose weight" off the plane.....oh, ok.

Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.  I thought the Berlin episode was very "meh" and drawn out.  I didn't have the connection with Collette at that point in the series to really "connect" with her emotions.  If they were to have done the Berlin episode now, I might buy it.  But I'll admit, I can't say I "love" this show, simply because I do have some issues with the realism of the situations at times--I find myself rolling my eyes almost every episode.

But as far as leaving luggage on the tarmac--you've never been asked to shift your luggage before or had the flight attendants ask for volunteers to give up their seats to lighten or balance a load?  Sure, it doesn't happen nearly as often today, but growing up, it was DEFINITELY offered up--especially when flight conditions weren't going to be ideal or when on a smaller aircraft. Maybe I've had that experience more than you, but in an emergency situation, that wasn't the most unrealistic situation of the episode.

  • I love this show but hated this episode. It was so ridiculous. Dean needs to learn to listen to his copilots and not be so cocky. There is no way he should have landed that plane without getting confirmation from the air traffic controller that it was ok. Leaving a dead man's body behind? Making all the passengers leave their luggage? All because he landed when he shouldn't have. If that happened today, every single one of those passengers would have sued Pan Am. I realize it's just tv, but the episode was SO far fetched that I found it hard to get into.

Yeah but in that case your luggage would still get to you eventually. You wouldn't be leaving your stuff behind, never to be seen again.

  • I guess it was all if you "bought" into them landing in Haiti in the first place.  I agree that THAT was the most far-fetched scenario of the episode and agree that in real life, that wouldn't have happened.  Smile

I imagine that's why the show isn't a shoe-in for renewal yet.  I bet the surveyors are getting crazy mixed responses.
