My kid has no idea what porn is or what a porn star is....to him she would just be another person reading a book.

I try not to judge people. Who knows why she got in to that industry. But that doesn't mean her life has to end once she leaves it.
No I wouldn't as long as she was dressed appropriately and I'm sure they didn't announce her to the kids as a porn star just probably an actress.

I have a funny stripper story- One NYE dh and I were out with a huge group of friends. One of the guys brought a new date and I was chit-chatting with her, asking her what she did. Well, she said dancer. The naive me said "oh where do you dance?" "Fremont". I then proceeded to ask "ballet or tap?".
I didn't get it at first, but everyone at the table did and was trying to hide their chuckling. She was a stripper in Fremont. I had no clue.
No, I wouldnt' care at all. The article clearly states that she hasn't done porn in a few years so it's not like she's going to be nude, diddling herself in the classroom.
More power to her. She's wise to get out of porn and into mainstream acting. If this helps her, I'm all for it.

She was just on The View today and I caught the segment while flipping through. They showed some pics of her reading, and she was wearing a button down shirt, jeans, and some sort of Toms looking shoes. She looked like a perfectly normal volunteer reading to a group of kids.
I noticed that when they introduced the segment they used carefully chosen words, and specifically stated that her invitation to read was in no way affiliated with the NEA's Read Across America program. While I do not think this is that big of a deal, I do have to wonder who came up with the idea to invite her and what they thought would happen.
This is making me laugh because apparently *I* of all people am the one who would have a problem with it.. go figure!
I realize this isnt probably politcally correct, but I dont want skanks around my daughter. It's that simple.

I don't think it's a big deal. It's not like she's wearing her hooker clothes & talking about her porn experiences. I would be a little
when I heard who she was but I don't think I'd be pissed. A kid wouldn't have the faintest idea who she is.
I actually feel kind of sorry for her, she clearly wants to get out of that arena & will now forever be painted with a porn brush. Her choices, but it's sort of too bad, she's quite young & this may follow her around for a long time.
I am not going to say I would be all for it, but I probably would not cause an uproar over it.

I can appreciate the whole trying to get her life back on track thing, but I dont think an elementary school needs to be her platform. Go work at an animal shelter or something.
She's 23 and retired from her field. Per some sources that I won't reveal, she's quite famous in her arena AND she had a guest stint on Entourage practically playing herself (which rates right up there with Bob Sagat to me). I don't think she's trying to get her life back on track, I think she's probably bored and moving on, or growing up. Why is this even a news story?
As far as reading to my kids, more power to her. They have no clue what she used to do, my kids don't even have a clue what I do. I give more of a side eye to the people causing a fuss over this, and to the Dad's showing up to help.
