Opinions... appropriate for a 1st birthday?
I've been stalking Pinterest and have been trying to plan a few fun things for Wyatt's first birthday that won't cost me any money (I'm on a serious budget for this).
I found an adlib for a bridal shower, and so I made one up for Wyatt's birthday, I figured it might be fun for some of the older kids or even adults. I would ask for them to stick them in a jar to keep for Wyatt for when he gets older (and for us of course, I think they're pretty funny).
Lance read it and thought it was good, but said it might be a little too much for a 1st birthday party and that I should wait to do something like that when he gets older, since obviously he's not going to be able to do one.
Here it is... opinions?

I think that's a really cute idea! It might be a good idea to wait until he's older so he can participate. Or, you could make it a tradition, and do one every year to match the theme of his party.
Just a thought, isn't this usually called a "Mad Lib"? I thought that was the name of this particular game, and an ad lib was when an actor goes off script and improvises his own line. Anybody else?
You're probably right, I just kind of thought that 'madlib' was the brand of the book, like a play on words... I'll have to look into that.
I'm thinking I might do it since I've already made it and it's fun, then do one every year if people like it
ETA: You're right, they are called Mad Libs, they were invented back in the 50's when a guy wrote the fist book. I thought they were a game before the book was written. Good to know

I think it's super cute. I'm not 100% sure if it's great for a first birthday though. I mean, I can't see any little boy sitting down to read those later on.
If you want something to occupy the guests, then I like it more. If you plan to have even a handful of kids at the party, it wouldn't hurt to have some there for them to play around with.
BUT, I'd make one change. Make the story about Wyatt.
Where you have a blank for "Name" up at the top, put Wyatt's name in and then change he/she to "he." It will be more personal that way... and I can see kids getting a kick out of making little Wyatt go on all these crazy mad lib adventures.
I agree with this. You could always bind them and read them at bed time
Yeah, I probably wouldn't do it for a first birthday party-maybe for the adults, but I don't think the kids would really get into it if that's your aim.
Pin the tail on the donkey is always fun...also, you could do what my mom did-throw the balloon in the laundry basket...I loved that game when I was little
