f/u to outside my comfort zone

So yesterday I posted that I was going to go to a sport bar by myself to watch the KU/Kentucky game.  I knew the bar I was going to was a huge KU bar, so I went about an hour and a half before the game started.  I should have gone way earlier.  The place was packed.  There wasn't one empty seat at the actual bar area.  I looked around a little and decided to go to another bar. I decided on a bar/restaurant not too far from my house.  It was dead and they had the smallest TVs ever.  I ordered one beer and then left and went to my neighbor's to watch.

The Jayhawks didn't get the win and I didn't get to flirt with any cute KU boys :(  But I wasn't near as nervous going as I thought I would be.  I think I'll try it again -- just make sure and get to the bar early!

Re: f/u to outside my comfort zone

  • Sorry to hear that the "good" bar was a bust (and that KU lost).  At least you know to get there earlier next time.  Congrats on stepping outside of your comfort zone!

This!  You are going to be so confident before you know it!

  • Congrats!  I found it very empowering to go to bars/restaurants by myself after my divorce.

Thanks!  The first "stepping out" thing I did was go to the movies by myself.  It was really huge for me, but also something not as intimidating as going to a bar or restaurant.  After I did it I was like that was no thing.  So maybe try something small like that!
