Fun Date Ideas for the H and I
Hey Everyone!
I was wondering if anybody knew of some fun/cheap date ideas for me to do with H. We are on a rather strict budget, and I am trying to find a more creative date idea than the traditional dinner/movie combo.
Anybody have any fun ideas they could think of?
Thanks!
Re: Fun Date Ideas for the H and I
How about a game night? I know it's not going out, but after you could go out for dessert only.
That's all I have, sorry, w/2 young kids & a husband out of town all the time, we don't get out much & when we do, it's usually to dinner.
What about just staying home, turning all electronics off, making dinner together and just enjoying each others company? Double dates with friends? Christmas shopping together? (For the record- I would never suggest that to my dh so I'm sure I've made some people laugh with that one)

If they haven't closed already for the season, you could make a trip out to a cider mill. Make an afternoon of it and take the back country roads, eat some doughnuts while you're there, browse the store, etc. The one in Plymouth has animals that I always insist on seeing.
Or on a Saturday morning, head out to your local farmer's market. I just love seeing what they've got.
DH and I used to cook a lot together, that was fun. Maybe find a recipe that you wouldn't normally attempt, drink some wine while you cook, and just have fun hanging out together.
I also love checking out area breweries searching for good beer. You don't have to spend a lot of money - just try a beer (or two) then head home.
Or what about college or minor league hockey game? I think they're super fun and a lot cheaper than seeing the red wings. Although that's fun too if you can score tickets.
I'll keep brainstorming. DH and I haven't had a date night in so long it's sad.
Carolyn! I love your new siggy pic!!! So cute!
And DH and I are the same way, it's been forever since we've really done a "date night" and when we do it's usually the standard dinner and a movie... I feel like I need to step it up a little bit

Thanks everyone! I really like the idea of going up to Frankenmuth for the day. That would be a fun thing especially since we both love road trips together. I am trying to get some fun ideas now so that when the time comes I can be prepared with some fun ideas!
For the game nights everyone suggested: What types of games did you have in mind?
I think I remember seeing a designated sledding hill in a park on Ann Arbor Rd or Trail or whatever that road is called. I went there for fireworks, so it was dark and I could be wrong.

Sledding is a GREAT idea! I love playing out in the snow haha!
I am pretty sure there are tons of places that could easily be turned into a sledding hill. Now I just gotta wait for the snow to get here
