Help us plan our mini-vacation!

DH and I are thinking of taking a short vacation around Christmas for about 4 days without DD (woo hoo). We are open to anyplace that will be warmer, which I think basically means either southern US or the Caribbean. Our only stipulation is that we be able to get there on a non-stop so we can maximize our time at our destination.

Any suggestions?

  • I am pretty sure you can direct to Miami or Jamaica. And the flights are not too long so you could maximize your time away!

  • Puerto Rico, Charleston, SC, Savannah, GA, Bahamas

    Very jealous!

  • take a direct flight IAD-Cancun, a ton of AIs there, you'll love it!

  • Puerto Rico. We went there last year and loved it! You don't need a passport and they take US currency, so it's very easy.

  • Another vote for Puerto Rico! My friend and I went there last Dec and it was wonderful weather and a great short vaca
  • I definitely second Cancun.  The flight's only 4 hours, and it's their off season so you won't have crowds / teenage spring-breakers, and everything is extra cheap.  There's a ton of really great excursions - my favorite is Xel-Ha, it's an all-inclusive "Ecotourism" thing so you can snorkel or float down a crystal-clear river, jump off cliffs, zip line, etc., and then whenever you get tired you can eat, drink, lounge in hammocks, go swim with manatees, etc.  Water is blue and weather is warm... Stay in the Hotel Zone and you'll have a great time :)
