I'm at a loss for my MIL (doesn't help that she's been difficult lately). She's coming in town for thanksgiving and wants to exchange gifts then. DH has no idea other then a cross (he thinks she collects them, I don't think she does). We just gave her a gc to shutterfly last month for her birthday (and dh made it for twice as much as we spend on accident).
what are you getting your in laws? any generic ideas?
Re: IL gift ideas
Honestly, I make that DH's department. My parents are mine.
Brian & Laurie
Does it have to be something bought? There are so many cute ideas on pinterest of homemade gifts. We're making all sets of grandparents homemade vases with the kid's handprints and some christmas tree pictures out of footprints.
Last year I took 2 of their pictures and used canvas people to make 8 x 10 canvas prints of each kiddo.

For yours:
GCs to restaurants in her area?
Cooking gadgets? I have no idea if she likes to cook, so take it for what it's worth.
Send her and a friend to a Painting With a Twist type of thing in her area?
For mine:
Cash, she needs it.
i love this idea. i think my FIL would think it was awesome.
For my FIL's birthday/Father's Day combo, the kids are chipping in for a little create-your-own Wine of the Month club. He gets a new bottle of wine per month and the kids rotate who is responsible each month so the cost is spread out among them.
My MIL would love anything handmade.
You could do a combo gift of a Pie of the Month or something similar.
I generally make DH in charge of his parents, but we do talk about the price of the gifts and try to remember if there was anything either of them said in passing that we can use as a gift idea. They are always say they don't want anything, but then have sometimes seemed disappointed with their gift.
For MIL we are getting her a Ninja Blender (probably the cheapest one) and we have a 20% off coupon and a store credit we need to use.
FIL - I have no idea. He buys everything he wants. He is very impulsive and buys lots of crap but DH usually can think of some random thing that his dad will like.
I have absolutely NO idea what to get for my parents this year. Well, my mom will make a list with really random things (some of them don't actually exist) and my dad says he just wants to sepnd time with us. His toys are too expensive for us to buy.
Dx: PCOS and short luteal phase
18 cycles (3 with our RE) - Metformin + Clomid + HCG booster did the trick!

I'm sending them my DH and child. I have to work so can't go to CO this year. I'm crushed that I won't be freezing for a week. Really crushed.
Okay I'm a little sad I won't see C ski for the first time.
Other than that I have no idea. They are the we have everything need nothing folks everyone speaks of.
I'm giving MIL a silver grandma charm bracelet
FIL will get a grampa mug with pics of he and Audi and of Audi and some keurig flavors.
