At What Point Would You Intervene?
If at all?
My BFF is having a mental health crisis. She needs to go to the hospital and she knows she needs to go, but she won't go alone. Her FI just invited a friend over who has a long layover in their city and he says he won't "abandon" said friend to take her to the ER.
Would you contact the FI now?
Re: At What Point Would You Intervene?
Yes. I was in a similar (sort of) situation (DDed)
So, I would contact FI, and if he is unwilling to do something I would either take her myself or call an ambulance.
I hope this is all taken care of by now though...

Jilly - Psychiatrist still has not called back. That can't be normal, right? I wish I could take her but she's in Boston
ETA: reading comp fail on my part.

I was able to make her laugh a little, so I think she's a bit better, plus FI's crazy friend should be on his way back to the airport by now. She hasn't called back in about 90 minutes. I'm going to call her again to get an update.
you're a really good friend!'
also, I forgot to respond about the psych not responding- is it like an on-call psychiatrist that works off hours or something? or just her regular person. If its the first thing, not normal- that person should be on call for things like this. If its just a person with off hours, it is not that unusual, however they should have a warning on their voicemail to call 911 or whatever if it is an emergancy.

It's her normal doc, but she apparently has an emergency paging system. She left the doc a regular VM yesterday and then emergency paged twice today.
