Recommend a Real Estate Agent?
Hello all! I have stumbled my way to the Nest from the Knot. Not only am I marrying the love of my life in 2013, he wants to buy a home in 2012! We are looking to relocate from a teeny apartment in New York City to real house on lots of land in the Hudson Valley. He's from there originally, but his family moved away several years ago. So I was wondering if anyone could recommend a real estate agent they used and loved, or know someone who had a great experience working with. Any other tips/recommendations/tricks you can share would be greatly appreciated.

narrow down where in the hudson valley you are looking and you can probably get some great referrals

It depends where you are looking. Many realtors don't cross the river, so if you are looking on both sides of the Hudson, you may need more than one.

I don't have any recommendations for the Westchester side of the river because we had a lot of trouble finding anyone who would work with us because our budget was only $400k. We mostly just called the listing agent for places we wanted to look at (there weren't many, and at the time, the ones in that price range were total crapholes until you got further out that we were comfortable with).
