Tattoo poll

Have we ever talked about our tattoos?

Who has them? What are they of? Do they have special meaning?

If you don't have any, would you like to get one someday? Of what?

Re: Tattoo poll

  • I have one on my back right shoulder of "doves" from a sand dollar.  My grandmother always had sand dollars in their home and was the one who told me about the doves.

I would like to get another one some day, not sure if it will be Jeremiah 29:11, the word "trust," or something else.

A very good friend of mine came into my life in 2009 and was the true meaning of those that enter your life for a reason.  She had a tattoo of the word "trust" and talked about how it was a life philosophy... "trust that where you are is exactly where you're meant to be."

  • I don't have one. I think I'm too fickle to get one. I like the idea of them sometimes, but the permanency scares me.

I don't necessarily find them attractive or unattractive, but I do wonder why people would get certain designs sometimes or put them in certain places.

If I were to get one, it would be small and nothing too intricate. Something simple that means a lot to me. Nothing really fits that description right now.

  • Pinterest also has me intrigued about the concept of a tattoo with white ink.

  • Don't have any.

The only time I would foresee myself getting one in the future would be (God forbid) if I had a child die and I wanted a small permanent reminder.  Other than that I can't imagine any reason I'd get one.

  • I have one on my lower back. Yes, I have a tramp stamp.  I actually had the design custom drawn up for me and carried it around for nearly 2 years before finally getting it done. However, the artist did a terrible, awful job and I hate it. It's a horseshoe, with a tribal design coming out of each side of it. Above the horse shoe, in small letters are the initials E.R.B for my good friend who was killed a car accident in high school. I hate the tattoo, but I do love the meaning behind it. Eventually I'd like to get it covered up, but I don't know if that will ever happen.

Speaking of Pinterest, I saw this tattoo (below) on there and I'm in love with it (no pun intended). The word love means so much to me, especially speaking for 'self-love' which is something I've had to rediscover over my journey the past year. Also, the love a mother feels for her child is bigger than life itself. So yes, the word love is meaningful to me.  The only problem with this tattoo is I have no idea where I'd get it done. I think wrist tattoos are cute, but not for me. I've thought about the top of my foot, but I'm undecided.

love has no end. <img class= so cool! Want!" src="http://media-cdn.pinterest.com/upload/93871973452570218_JqeZRajK_b.jpg" />

  • I don't have a tattoo and I am undecided if I will ever get one. I just haven't found anything that is meaningful enough to me to get it permenetly inked on my body. My sisters on the other hand, both have plans for their next 2 - 3 tattoos.

  • I have a bee on my lower right side.  My grandfather was a beekeeper, my father was a beekeeper for almost his entire life, and in 1990 him and my one brother became partners in a beekeeping/pollination company.  After my father passed away, another brother stepped up to help the other one.  They are now one of, if not the, largest pollination companies in PA and are pretty big in FL.

I got my tattoo back in 2002, when I moved out of my parents house and became independant.  My father hated tattoos, but when he finally saw mine, after I hid it for almost a year, he said that was one he liked.

I used to work for the bee business, but decided I wanted a real job after my dad passed away.  So even though I'm no longer affiliated with the bee business, my bee is still special.

  • I have one on my back/side. I always knew I wanted a tattoo but wanted to wait for something that had a meaning. I spent a lot of time with my grandma so when she passed away I knew I had to get something for her. She loved to sit outside and listen to all the birds "sing". She would try to whistle like them, too. It was a fun game we would play when I was younger. She suffered with Alzheimer's for many years so I knew I had to add some purple in there to represent that. This is what I came up with:

I've also seen a "to thine own self be true" tattoo on Pinterest in a gorgeous script font that I love as well.  I think I like that one  because it reminds me not to be so much of a people pleaser.

  • I have 2. I love them. I got one my first (?) year of college. Here is a picture of the location since it is hard to describe. (Pic from FL last week with my new hair color)

    image

It is a palm tree with a shooting star over it. I always said I would get a palm tree to cross at the trunk when I got married and I haven't done it yet.

I also have one by my left hipbone that is a swirly blue design with a star in it.

I want to get Brynn's name (and maybe birthdate) right under my bra on my left side ribcage. (My sissy has Chance's name in the same place.)

I also want the tattoo that Amanda posted or this one.

  • Nope. While I have always wanted one of a small sunflower, I just can not justify the cost = pain.

My sister and brother have tattoos. My brother has one of my mom to cover up the name of his XW!

  • No tattoos for me and I don't ever plan on getting any.  I thought about it long and hard at one point and almost got a horseshoe, but got a piercing (rook) instead.  Piercings are easilty removeable, tattoos = not so much.  I'm not a fan of them on men and in general especially if you're in a professional environment and they cover a lot of skin.

  • I have 6 I think. Most are on my back and one's a cover up. I have one on my stomach/hip area. They all had meaning at the time I got them. They may not fully apply now but they did at the time.

  • No tattoos for this girl. I think small tattoos in spots that can be covered by clothes are (for the most part) OK.

I feel so bad for people who got the trendy tattoos or who really didn't think through what could happen to the tattoo on certain parts of your body.

  • I have no desire for one. There isn't anything I like enough that I'd want it on my body forever.

My mom has 2, one of which she regrets. It is Tinkerbell by her breast. I'm pretty sure she just got it b/c some other friends of hers were getting them too (I was like 10).

  • I have a 4 leaf clover/ celtic knot design on my left ankle. I do want one more tattoo but I have to find the right artist to draw it/ink it. I want to get a daffodil in bloom with a ladybug on the petal. I still haven't quite decided where yet either

  • I'm way late, but wanted to share...

Have we ever talked about our tattoos?

Who has them? I DO!  What are they of? I have one on my stomach, it's a horseshoe linked in a heart w/ "Ace" under it. On my wrist I have the lyrics "I'm Alive and Well" Do they have special meaning?Yes, the one on my stomach I got with my BFF just before I moved to TX and I put my horse's name under it as he had passed away 7 months beforehand.  Then one on my wrist is a lyric from one of my favorite songs by Kenny Chesney/Dave Matthews. The song opens with "It's so damn easy, so say that life's so hard, everybodys got their share of battle scars. As for me I'd like to thank my lucky stars, that I'm alive and well." The song just kinda gets me thinking and picks me up when I get down about things.

If you don't have any, would you like to get one someday? Of what? I plan on getting another 1 or 2...once I can figure out what I want and where!

  • Super super late on this, but I love tattoos.  I have just one so far....my hubby's name in cursive on the inside of my wrist.
  • Have we ever talked about our tattoos?

Who has them? I have three of them

What are they of?   I have a butterfly on my right ankle a moon and stars on my left ankle and a "tramp stamp"

Do they have special meaning?  The moon and stars is for my kids the color of the stars is the birthstone color for each of the kids

I would love to get more some day.

If you don't have any, would you like to get one someday? Of what?
