Thinking ahead to our anniversary...where should we go? I am adding in Taste of Texas because I've been there many times so it will be a good benchmark as I read your rankings. :-)

I have never been to Taste of Texas, so I am leaving it out from my rankings.
I would go to Strip House or Pappas Brothers if I was looking for a steak place.

ditto this, except i have been to ToT - i'd rank it between Sullivans and Ruth's Chris.....and double ditto about the Strip House or Pappas (i'd probably chose Pappas over Strip House.....although, Strip House may be good since it's an anniversary dinner and there's nekkid pictures on the walls ;p)
Exactly this especially the bold part (I was going to ask if the list was limited to just the ones you listed.)
I would rate Taste of Texas only slightly above Ruth's Chris. I'm not a fan of either. I just don't understand the popularity.

I have never been to Ruth's Chris so I cannot comment on their food. I can say that Vic & Anthony's should be on the list and Striphouse is very good too. If they were added I would rank them as

Not on the list... Perry's. We went for HRWs in August and looooved it! The food was great and the company atmosphere and service made it even better!
I wish I had more reviews of others but I don't really get out much since I work at my day job and 2-3 nights a week at the family restaurant.

I'm excited. Taste of Texas is the best of the best filet I've ever had in Houston (there are two places in College Station that easily top it, believe it or not!) so if Flemings & Sullivan's are better...YUM!

I would add Killen's (in Pearland) to the list, and somewhere near the top. Fantastic steak - fantastic everything.
