Ugh. I don't know what to do for evie ![]()
She was miserable yesterday at day care. They said that she was laying down all day and just crying and unhappy. And playing with her ears. She threw up her snack too ![]()
2 weeks ago we went in and she had a bad ear infection in both ears. Saturday we finished the amoxicillin. I have a feeling the ear infections didn't go away.
But the thing is, we have her 15 month physical tomorrow. I called them up yesterday after I picked her up from day care and they were not sure what to do since she is going to be there anyways on Friday. So we took the stance of see how the night goes. That evening all she wanted was mommy, we sat and watched tv which is all she wanted. She ate so much too - 2 pouches of baby food 1 pouch of apple sauce, 2 chicken nuggets and some teddy grahams (so were trying to keep foods that will keep her tummy happy and she hasn't been eating her veggies so the pouches were the way to get her to eat them)
Putting her to bed was horrible. Cranky, wrestling her to rock her to sleep. But she did nurse. She slept all night decently well. 11+ hours, so can't complain. Woke up a few times trying to find a pacifier but found it and put her self back down to bed.
This morning was cranky, and didn't want to be in her high chair or her car seat. Day care she was fine eating her breakfast when I left. But she just didn't seem happy. I gave her some ibuprofin before we left home to help with any pain.
At this point I know her ear infections did not go away. And feel like a bad mom for waiting but the nurses also said it wont hurt anything to wait since we will be there anyways on Friday. Will talk to doctor about shots. But then am thinking, if it is still infected, it is just getting worse and get her in now to start antibiotics a day early.
I don't remember how many ear infections she has had. I am worried about this because I had my adenoids taken out when I was young because they were causing me a lot of ear infections. All things to bring up tomorrow
Just want tomorrow afternoon to be here already!
Re: just need to vent - ear related
I hope she feels better soon, poor baby.
My babysitter's son had a problem with getting ear infectons all.the.time. He was constantly at the doctor, on antibiotics, etc. She finally took him to a chiropractor and he completely stopped getting the infections. The chiropractor did some kind of adjustment I guess? and it allowed everything to drain the way it should (or something like that). Just wanted to pass along the info.....something you might want to look into.

Poor Evie! Liam seemed to have chronic ear infections all of last fall and winter, they just would not go away. He was constantly on antibiotics, and as the Spring approached, they just stopped. Thankfully, he hasn't had one since. We are still on close watch but hoping to avoid the tubes route.
I am glad Evie goes in again tomorrow. It sounds like she needs another course of antibiotics, maybe something a little stronger.
