Re: Thankful Thursday - why so quiet ladies?!?
I'm thankful for the usual...family, friends, health, etc.
But today I'm particularly thankful for hot showers, that it's almost the weekend and my hubby's off and that Breaking Dawn is tonight!!!
I've been so quiet because of what I am thankful for today: Samantha taking regular, REAL naps. I've been mia b/c until pretty much yesterday she would not sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time, and would sleep even less if I put her in her bassinet/crib/swing (I tried it ALL). I think this means her acid reflux & milk issues are finally getting under control because she does not NEED to be held all the time (i.e. not flat on her back). She spent most her days crying/fussing then eating and spitting up then taking a little snooze to regain her energy and doing it all again....Yesterday and today she has taken REAL naps where I have been able to lay her down and do something else (go through the mail, pay bills....eat lunch) while she has slept for 60-90 minutes.
Also thankful that DH is so patient! He sat in the rocker with Samantha for an hour last night after I tried for over an hour to get her to sleep. It's our own fault for screwing up her evening by going to Baptism class, but I am just glad he is so willing and happy to share some of these tougher evenings with me so I can rest up for her nighttime feedings!
And I am thankful that I have a job I mostly love & get to see people I have worked with at various points in my career at an annual conference.
And I am thankful for our house- this is our "housiversary" week- we closed a year ago this week. Although I wish we had 3x as much counter space in the kitchen... I baked a ton of cookies last night... and DH was amazed I had every inch of the counter covered with "stuff"
Here are some of my cookies- yes they are brains!
