Yesterday I went to my mom's house for our weekly grandma visit. I was running a bit late so I didn't get a chance to say bye to Sherlock.
When I came home 5 hours later, I called him but he didn't come. Whatever, he's a cat. I did think it was unusual when several minutes passed and I still didn't see him. He usually shows up to greet us eventually.
I told Darian, "How much do you want to bet that he's basking on my bed?" I went upstairs to check. I had closed the bedroom door before I left. (V is a little bit allergic and can't sleep in a kittified bed.) I opened the door and Sherlock BOLTED out, didn't even look at me or meow, just ran straight down the stairs.
What a good kitty... no sign of cat pee or anything in our room, and he even came back to say hello.
