Seasonal Help

I'm usually a lurker, but you ladies offer great advice and I haven't filled out a job application in over 8 years so I though I would ask for some advice.

I am currently a middle school teacher.  I am applying for holiday/part time jobs to make some extra money.  I had a couple questions about filling out applications:

1. Should I list each school I worked for separately, or just list the county I worked for, and that I have worked there for 8 years?

2. Would it be acceptable to leave the salary question blank?  I mean where they are asking for my currently salary?  It has nothing to do with the salary I would expect at a part time job.

TIA for any insight you can give me!

Re: Seasonal Help

  • I would just list the county system and that you've worked there for 8 years.  The individual schools have nothing to do with what you're applying for.

And for the salary question, I would answer it because they might throw away your application if you don't, but I would make it clear in your cover letter that you are not expecting a salary anything like that and that you're just looking for a part-time job to make some extra money.

  • I am also a professional and I have worked holiday help at 2 different companies. I put my current salary down in the application but where it listed desired salary, I put negotiable or holiday rate.
