And if they are not physically involved, there's some kind of weird hangup he's got for her. Maybe he even gets some kind of gratification from the way she treats him.
Because of all the rifts she has caused, he needs to tell her goodbye. Period.

Is it normal to "watch a movie" with a friend of the opposite sex? That sounds like code word for "we're going to screw." At least it was in college.
Sure, it's normal to watch a movie with a friend of the opposite sex. But this guy is totally cheating on her.
That he continues to hang out with this friend after she made it clear that the wife isn't welcome in her home is enough of a red flag in itself, even before you take all the other stuff into account.
Her H has big problems of his own -- this is a friend? By rights she should have been history when she screwed him over and let him down the first time.
If I got a call the night before my wedding and somebody was dropping out with a lame request it would have been the end of that "friend."

I think it's totally normal to watch a movie with a friend of the opposite sex, at a theater or your place or his/her place. But not a movie that starts at 8pm and ends with a 2am trip across state lines. No, no. This guy is banging the hell out of this girl.
But he's not cheating on her! She's sure of that!
Yeah, I would have never made it down the aisle with this A-hole. Why she is suddenly waking up to smell the coffee now I have no clue. Her H should have been sent packing (to his "friend") a loooong time ago.
