QOTD Thursday (hobbies/activities)

What is your biggest hobby/activity/interest outside of work? This can be anything, like a class you take once a week, cooking, crafting, going to happy hours, or whatever you enjoy.

Re: QOTD Thursday (hobbies/activities)

  • Right now it's a tie between cooking and photography. There are days when I'm burned out of one and switch to the other. Which means I'm only half way decent at either.
  • I spend most of my "fun time" reading, but I also enjoy crafting (quilt/knit/crochet).

  • Reading (mainly fiction).

  • Baking, Reading, Scrapbooking.
  • I currently spend most of my free time reading, but have been promising myself for the last two years that I would get a "real" hobby that would get me out and about since DH travels so much.  I've got a great DSLR and would like to learn more about photography, but I haven't seen any meet-ups or classes that have been able to entice me out of my comfort zone.

  • Mine is probably running. I try to run 20-25 miles per week and I run a few races a year.

I also really enjoy baking, but I haven't had as much time lately to devote to that.

  • Quilting and reading are probably my main two hobbies. I really wish I could get an active hobby!

  • I am trying to run at least 4 times per week and I am starting a kickboxing class this weekend. Also, I have been going to open studio for printmaking when I can.

  • Cooking/baking, definitely. I'm trying to stretch myself and learn new things (hence the blog).

I wish I had more time/money for yoga but I haven't been in a while.

  • I lead a flute choir at my church, but don't have the time anymore for any other ensembles. I also decided, after college, that I'd never endure an audition ever again!

Otherwise, I enjoy baking and other crafty endeavors (felt, paper crafts, etc.).

  • Right now, it is running. I'm training for a 10k in a few weeks, then my first half-marathon in March.

Also, I love to read, but I mostly do that on my commute.

  • Quilting/ crafting.  Normally it is mostly quilting, but lately I've been crafting more and more, especially for holiday gifts.

  • Reading.  There's somehting so comforting about curling up with my nook on the couch with a blanket and the dog at my feet.
  • Cooking, reading and photography.  I also spend some time crafting, but not that much.

I would very much like to get serious about photography, but I'm lazy.

  • Cooking, reading, crocheting, drinking.  Not always in that order. ;-)  Usually the drinking comes first.

  • The only hobbies I can fit in anymore are reading and gardening.  I love to cook, but with two little ones, I really only do survival cooking. My crafty urges I've been redirecting to the preschooler.
  • Zumba (I only go once per week, but have really grown fond of it), scrapbooking, reading, playing boardgames and Wii games.

I really want to get back into art- I took a lot of drawing classes in high school, but haven't done much since. I was pretty good at it, but am afraid I've lost any skill I had because it's been so long.

  • photography, crafts (mostly cards/tags), and cooking

i took a photo class last winter and want to take another soon. maybe a photoshop class too? i am a big fan of classes because they keep me from getting lazy.

  • Sewing and Photography.  I'm currently very close to finishing a dress for my sister, which will be the first full start-to-finish project I've completed since having LO.  I've been slow to get back on a roll with it.

  • reading, watching sports, drinking, planning travel...not always in that order :)
  • Running and reading are my two favorite hobbies.

There is nothing I like better than curling up with a book/Kindle while eating junk food (chips, cookies, candy, etc.), which is why I need to run to work off all those calories.

  • I love that my hobby is now my job! I get to live, sleep, eat, and breathe personal growth, so now I can justify all the books, blogs, and programs/classes I've taken for the past 8 years.

I guess my other hobby right now that fits in with the above is trying to find a more "natural" way of living a healthy life as it pertains to body and health. Reading up on Primal Blueprint stuff right now and loving the thought of it as a lifestyle. Incorporating it bit by bit.

And finally, music/performing will always be a huge part of my life/my relationship with O: being in bands, hosting band jams and karaoke parties in our basement, going to live-band Rock-n-Roke, hosting karaoke gigs out at restaurants, and going out a few times a month to see mostly bands our friends are in.

  • Reading.  I just love immersing myself in a good book.

  • Singing. DH and I both sing in a chorus we helped start in 2009 after our old one folded. We have rehearsals weekly when we're preparing for a concert, and do 3 concerts a year, so it's a considerable time suck.

I love cooking/baking but I don't have the time to devote to it that I once did. Sad panda. And I do like to crochet, though I'm not very good and haven't picked up my stuff in over a year so I don't think I have much hope of getting better!

  • Exercise. I've been doing Bar Method for the last few months. It is addictive.

Also, reading, baking, and all things pop culture (my tv shows, movies, podcasts, etc.)

  • I run alot in my spare time, although it hasn't been as much as I'd like lately since we moved.  I also enjoy knitting and crocheting.  MH calls me Grannie Annie when I pull out my projects at random times (dr.s office, waiting for friends, metro, ya know).  Oh and one more thing, I love to cook and bake and am super excited for the holidays so I have an excuse to go all out!

  • I play clarinet in a band and I cook a lot.
