More name talk.. Short Names
I've thought about continuing a trend of short middle names with our kids. My husband's MN is Jay and my niece's is Eme (pronounced like the letter "m").
I was literally going through the alphabet last night for short letter-sounding middle names. I suggested Bee and DH just stared at me lol. I think a little Isla Bee would be adorable.
Are there any really short names that you like?

I love the combo, but agree with the Bea spelling. The women in DH's family have a middle name tradition of names like May, Kay, Rae, Shea, etc.

Whoops, I spelled it Bea to DH last night when he asked about it. Don't ask about the insect spelling above.
I think "Bee" is cute. I wanted to use Janie's middle name (Beatrice) and call her "Bea".
I also like the idea of continuing the short name tradition.
I have a friend who's dd's middle name is Ve. I think it's pronounced just like the letter V, but it could be "vay" I suppose. I've never asked.

I like to talk about names. Isla isn't a definite for my unborn child or anything. I was just paring some short MNs with names that I know we both like.
Most of the names that are on my list for serious consideration are short because our last name is so flipping long. Most are Indian too, because let's face it, there's not a lot of traditional American names that go with it.
Boys: Arul, Arun, Kiran
Girls: Aarti, Uma (DH likes it & so do I but I worry about people thinking it's because of Uma Thurman), Veda (but again, I worry people will think it's because of the movie "My Girl")
DH's rule is that the first name has to be one syllable so it was limiting.

I am also a fan of Mae.
I find myself liking short middle names paired with longer first names. And longer middle names with shorter first names.
My middle name is Kaye and I would love to use it.
I also really like when middle names are shortened. For example I have a younger cousin named McKenzie Katherine and they call her Kenzie Kate. I love it.
