I agree with everything that muddled said. You should listen to her. -ESDReturns
Re: poll time! Jewelry.
I absolutely love this pearl set that Mr. Kuus got me. They're not too clunky, and are gray pearls strung with white gold.
I get most of my jewelry at arts festivals and renfests. On a daily basis I've been known to wear earrings, a necklace, and my e-ring/wedding band, but this week it has just been the rings. I don't know why. I don't think it's that I've finally clued in to how stupid I look wearing a snazzy set of jewelry and sweatpants. I'm sure I'll wear more in a week or so.
What is your favorite piece of jewelry (other than your e ring)? My 40th birthday present (warning: AW):
The settings are 19th Century French.
Silver or gold? Used to be silver only but am branching out more in recent years.
Big and chunky or small and dainty? Big and chunky, generally.
Where do you get most of your jewelry? All over the place. I like Silpada but I think it's overpriced. Same with Stella & Dot and then you're not getting something unique. Target, Macy's (for occasion pieces). I like to buy stuff when we're on vacation, I found the best earrings on our trip to Madrid in this one shop. For good stuff one of my forever BFF's deals in antique & estate jewelry: http://www.rubylane.com/shop/vsterling
What do you wear on a daily basis? Nothing, it mixes up daily and I almost never wear my wedding set.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
I'm going to start off this poll w/ the fact that I never wear jewelry.
What is your favorite piece of jewelry (other than your e ring)? I have a necklace that has my grandmother's diamond from her e-ring in a gold sunburst that I like to wear on special occasions. I also have an opal ring I bought in Australia that is very pretty.
Silver or gold? The necklace is gold and the opal ring is silver.
Big and chunky or small and dainty? I usually like to wear big and chunky earrings, which is the majority of the jewelry I wear.
Where do you get most of your jewelry? I don't really buy any? Sometimes I can get the chunky earrings from Kohls if it's not too young looking.
What do you wear on a daily basis? Just my e-ring.
ETA - We have a very cool little shop near me that represents a bunch of villages from all over the world. They make pretty awesome jewelry and I buy lots of earrings there. It's all fair trade and very lovely.
I don't really have a favorite piece of jewelry other than my e ring. I have several items that are precious to me for sentimental reasons.
I wear both silver and gold. It depends on what I'm wearing that day.
More big and chunky probably. I love turtlenecks and cowlnecks, so you can't really do small and dainty w/ a turtleneck.
I get most of my jewelry from Lia Sophia. My friend sells that jewelry so I go to a ton of parties. I really like it.
On a daily basis I'll wear a necklace and earrings. Sometimes a bracelet if it goes with the other jewelry I'm wearing. I do not wear any other rings besides my e ring and wedding band. I'm not a ring person.
I really really love my wedding band. Other than that, my favorite is a horse charm that my aunt gave me. It's special to me mostly because of the relationship.
I generally go for silver over gold.
I have both- chunky and fun AND pretty and dainty. I thinking I wear the smaller stuff more often. I have to be in the mood for the big stuff.
I buy jewelry on the road. I get earrings and beads whenever I travel.
Daily, I wear my wedding ring and a necklace- I switch out the charm based on how I am feeling. This week, it's my horse. I generally wear earrings as well.
I NEVER thought I'd say this but my favorite bracelet is the Pandora one my mom, grammy, sisters and I all have. It just has one charm, we all have the same charm and I'm not adding any beads to it, so it doesn't look cluttered like they often do.
Silver, mostly, but I like gold.
Usually small and dainty because I like things that don't get in the way.
Gifts. I don't buy much jewelry and when I do it's usually from Etsy.
Nothing on an absolute daily basis, but sometimes I'll put on a pair of earrings or a necklace and wear it for weeks. Right now I'm wearing a pair of small cobalt-blue studs that I've had in since Sunday.
I pair of bronze (i think?) earrings DH brought home from Italy for me. They are heavy as helll, but really cool.
I like silver and gold, it depends on the outfit. My e-ring is white gold, sometimes I just wear that as my only jewelry.
I wear all types. I like to have options, so i have some chunky, some not so much.
I haven't bought anything in a while, but usually stick to cheap stuff from the mall.
The only other thing I wear nearly daily is a gold and white gold twist ring with a little band of diamonds DH got me for my birthday last year.
What is your favorite piece of jewelry?
Oh gosh, I would have a hard time deciding. I have some family pieces that I love wearing, reminds me of the person that gave it to me etc
Silver or gold?
I prefer silver toned (sterling silver, white gold, platinum etc)
Big and chunky or small and dainty?
I like both...depends on the item, what I'm wearing etc
Where do you get most of your jewelry?
From Dh!
What do you wear on a daily basis?
I usually wear my engagement ring, the bands that go on either side of it...earrings, two particular bracelets and my watch. I add other things depending on my mood, the outfit etc
The--I forget what it's call, you know, that standard Irish design--ring that my sister gave me when she got married. She'd worn it for as long as I could remember (16 years older than me), but wasn't going to wear it anymore because her wedding ring is a similar design. Trouble is, I can't wear it for 5 minutes without being asked if I'm Irish and needing to admit that I'm not (sister is, though her bio dad), and I just end up feeling weird.
Gold, or multi-color. My wedding ring is tri-color.
Small and dainty.
Mostly I don't have much jewelry.
Just my wedding ring. Not even a watch.
