My GTKY poll observation

Many of you were married and divorced before the age I was even engaged.

That's all.

I don't hate dating!  Free drinks with cute guys?? --I'm all for it!  Just not ready to do it again yet...

  • It appears I'm on the "older" side on the board as well.

I like dating! Just don't like dealing with douchebaggery, LOL

  • I don't hate dating either. I just don't do it.

    Yes

My relationship with H has lasted for 9 years and married for only 2 years.  Hell, I wasn't even engaged until I was 31!!  I feel old!

  • Perhaps that's why many of our marriages failed?

I will be the first to admit that getting married at 21 was a BAD IDEA. But I say that now... 5 yrs later... sometimes I wish I had finished growing up before I was forced to grow up.... of course I had a kid at 21 too so I had to grow up regardless.... and I am so effing stubborn that I was out to  prove my parents wrong and that just b/c their 1st marriages failed b/c they were young did not mean that I would be the same way.... I kinda wish I had listened to them more back then.

  • I had this same thought. I was 23. Looking back I had no clue what I was in for. I can honestly say I agree with everyone who said I was too young. I was caught up in the fun of it all though and I thought I knew what love was and that *I* wasn't like other girls my age, I was more mature then them! Everything a young bebe says... I wish I had listened but I am also glad to have the experience. I am who I am today and where I am today because of it all, good and bad.

My thoughts exactly.. I was 29 when I got engaged.. I feel super old! LOL

  • Yeah I was 31 as well.  32 when married and just about 34 when E was born.  EH and I started dating when I was 26 though.

  • I was just shy of 21 when I got married. Probably not the best choice. I couldn't be reasoned with by anyone then but I am surprised that nobody really tried.
