If you've flown out of Hartsfield-Jackson with a baby.....

......you can take baby strapped into a carseat onto the parking shuttle, correct? We plan to fly out for Thanksgiving with my 2.5 month old in her car seat and snap n go, which we'll gate-check. First time flying with a baby (obviously)

Not having much luck googling, and I called the airport parking info number, which just said to leave a VM and they'll call me back in 72 hrs. (sure).

Any other tips on flying with a baby are welcome, too. Thanks.

Re: If you've flown out of Hartsfield-Jackson with a baby.....

  • Yes.  But you'll probably have to hold the carrier as the seat belts leave much to be desired.  :(

With a baby, you can go to the security line for special assistance.  Also, you can take liquids through screening, just need to declare them before putting them through the scanner.  I usually pack any juice/milk/babyfood in a separate insulated bag so that it's all together for the screening process.  I also always print out the TSA instructions that say I have the right to carry that stuff with an infant (just in case someone overzealous agent tries to argue).

Pack more diapers, clothes, formula, water, etc than you think you'll need.  Definitely have at least one change of cloths for baby, and at least a shirt for you/DH in your carry on.  The ONE time I didn't, DS1 puked all over me right before take off on a 3 hour flight.  GAG.

    Good call. Thank you!
