lunch near Friendship Heights metro

Tomorrow I have an appt near Friendship Heights metro and I want to meet DH somewhere for lunch.  I'm looking for something quicker than Cheesecake Factory, maybe Panera-ish?  I know this is a dumb question because there are a million restaurants/options right there but I'd just like to know exactly what's there instead of winging it when we're down there.  Thanks in advance for your help, Jenn

Re: lunch near Friendship Heights metro

  • There's a Panera right by the friendship heights metro, and a chipotle right next to it.  If you were walking away from the metro, with the mall at your back, you make a left when you get to the corner with I think a Chico's, Gap and BR & turn down that street, it's only about a block down (or Google for actual street names, haha sorry).  If you keep going straight, right after the strip with Gap & BR there's a Starbucks, or in the mall with Pottery Barn & all of that there's a starbucks on the bottom floor.  Your best option might be Booeymonger's though, it's on the corner right after you pass the mall, opposite of Filene's basement, on the same side as TJ Maxx. Hope that helps! :)
  • The Panera and Chipotle are on Willard Ave. Right near there in the new shopping area is also a PF Changs, but that's probably on par with Cheesecake as far as a time suck. There's also Lia's (yum!) in that same vicinity, but I don't know how fast they'd be at lunch.

Booeymonger is at the intersection of Wisconsin and Jenifer, right by the Jenifer St.exit from the metro. I love Booey but since they added a FroYo place in the front they have considerably less seating. One or two doors down from Booey on Jenifer is a Cosi. Chadwicks is right across the street from Booeymonger, but again, not the quickest.

If you are willing to walk a little down Wisconsin (5 minutes ish), there is a Pete's Apizza at the intersection of Wisconsin and Fessenden. On the way there you'd also pass a Subway.
