I hope this picture works.. it was already on fb & I'm too lazy to put it on flickr too.
MIL brought over about 10 old tablecloths & some pictures of aprons and asked if I could make them for her. This was my first attempt. I love it, but I'm pretty tall (5'8") compared to MIL/SIL (-5'2") so I'm not sure if I should shorten some of them. I think she will be giving a few away too. This one is 23 inches long.
The ties are made from the same cloth & I ended up with only one 4x4inch square leftover. Some of the other cloths are larger & I hope to get 2 aprons from those. (Maybe a mommy & me set? what is a good length for a toddler apron?)

I don't know that I'm being that generous.. I get to keep one of these & she gave me 8 CHINA SIZE (aka huge) rolls of different ribbons "just in case". I guess it is easier for me to make stuff for other people since I don't have kids & there's a fairly limited amount of projects that I want to do for ME. It's nice to have someone else buy the fabric and let me play.
Oh, I forgot about all that ribbon- sheesh, I might be able to dust off my little shrunken heart and spare a little sewing for enough ribbon to wrap the world up (2 or 3 times, probably

MIL doesn't really cook.. for her it's just something to wear to look cute.
