Basically, $30 pregnancy test. She said just to wait it out. That I probably ovulated late, and that hopefully my period comes in a week or so. She said if nothing happens by Christmas, we'll run a full blood test, hormone panels, etc, but she seemed confident AF would come soon and then I'd be right back on track.
I was feeling sorry for myself so I stopped at Starbucks and got a big, fat Latte. Aaaaand back to waiting.
Alexisana- it looks like so far you are winning this pool.
Re: Saw my Dr. just now.
You might need a new doctor.
A quickie pregnancy blood test shouldn't be $30. And she seemed completely uninterested in addressing anything right now. Six weeks is a long time to sit around and wait for your period to show up.
Click me, click me!
I agree.
yeah, I would just get a quickie blood test if you can.
6 weeks does seem like a long time just to wait it out. You can go to Planned Parenthood and get a quick blood test if you want, I am pretty sure.
30 bucks seems like a LOT for a pg test.
$30 is my visit copay. She said she would do a blood test if I wanted, but honestly, after talking to her, I didn't find it necessary. I think she is right. It's more likely that I didn't ovulate until last week.
Good news is we did the deed a lot last week, so maybe we didn't miss our November window after all. She said to retest again in 3 weeks if nothing shows, since there is a chance I could have conceived last week.
Waiting is not fun, but I feel less crazy now, so I guess I'm glad I went.
