Christmas presents for the new family
So.. it's getting to be that time when I start shopping for family, and I know mine pretty well.
BUT, the new in-laws, who have everything, are a bit difficult to come up with gifts for. Any ideas? We are still a little tight on finances from paying for the wedding ourselves but, as mean as they sometimes are to me, I still like to do thoughtful things for them.
I'm crafty, so I can put that to use. (I'm making these adorable hooded scarfs for my husbands little step sisters, and a few of my friends). and possibly do a painting or doing a photography project for a gift for my parents..
Re: Christmas presents for the new family
One year I went to one of those pottery painting places and made things for both families. A cookie platter for my sister, a santa cookie platter for my SIL and her husband (they were expecting their first at the time), coasters for my BIL and holiday serving platters for both sets of parents. They were a big hit, and worked out to less than $20 per gift.
I love to cook, so I think I may do edible gifts this year. Maybe homemade graham crackers and marshmallows for s'mores or crackers and peanutella, things like that.
This is what I'm giving my MIL this year, but it's the second Christmas after we got married. Whoops!
we were going to do that! I got an awesome groupon to mypublisher right after our wedding. buuuuut since the inlaws don't care for me much, i didn't know if they'd just throw it away.
we were going to do one with more pics of his fam, for his parents, and one with more of my side, for mine.
maybe we will just stick with that.
DH took pictures with his niece and his parents. I framed those pictures and gave them to my in-laws for gifts.
Is there a picture from your wedding of just him and his parents? My ILs don't care for me much either but they wouldn't throw a picture like that away.
So here's our official book.. LMK what you guys think! We got a few copies, one for each set of parents, and one for us.
we worked on it all night long last night.. husband helped more than i thought he'd even want to!
You have to log in to see it.. but this is the "friend sharing" log in.
