Recs for your latest fave chick lit book
I am a beach read kind of girl all year long. I wish I was more intellectual with my down time, but not so much.
What are your latest fave chic lit book recommendations?
Re: Recs for your latest fave chick lit book
The Chelsea Handler books are a riot. My favorite is Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea. It's not chic lit like Emily Giffin or Jen Lancaster - but it's mindless reading.
Otherwise, I prefer Jen Lancaster's books over Emily Giffin's books.
Also not intellectual but awesome - the Twilight series
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
not super light but one day was very good
i like all of lisa jewell's books - ralph's party and thirtynothing, especially
Ditto Jen Lancaster. I finished "If You Were Here" a couple of weeks ago and it was an absolute riot.
Last night I finished "Olivia Joules and the Overactive Imagination" by Helen Fielding (of the Bridget Jones fame) and it was really funny - I read it in two days.
I've read a couple Elin Hilderbrand books lately and they are pretty good - I like them because they take place in Nantucket, where we spent time growing up. They are more drama-y beach reads, but pretty decent.
They are both fun quick reads!
I recently liked a few books by Laura Lippman - kind of a mystery feel to most of her books.
The best non serious books I have read in the past year were the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. She was a romance novel writer but this series is more urban fantasy with a little romance thrown in but not full on romance novel type stuff. Although her romance novels were also good if you like those too.
Maybe the Sookie Stackhouse series too - kind of fun and easy reads. I also don't exactly know what falls into the chick lit category.
echoing a pp, if you can handle YA type stuff like Twlight series (hollah for Breaking Dawn on Monday night!), the Hunger Games trilogy was pretty good, and the movie (next year) looks AWESOME.
clearly I am with you on the less-intellectual reading bandwagon. I have to read serious stuff at work; at home, I want to read crap. (like my TV watching habits, I suppose.)

Those are great! I have read some and heard of others. Thanks!
I am considering the Hunger Games series, as I did like Twilight. Yes, I am one of those. But I only saw the first movie.
Ooooh yes, read the Hunger Games.
And I love Jennifer Weiner- depending on your mood I'd recommend different books. Good in Bed is a great place to start.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I do like Jennifer Weiner. So those books are covered! But I am intrigued the Hunger Games and since a movie is coming out, I would like to read it first. (Like I go to movies anymore!)
I really liked Rosie Dunne by Cecelia Ahern.
I also love all of Nora Roberts' books.
