What are your thoughts on........
wrist tattoo's? I am wanting to get a very tasteful tattoo on the inside of my wrist. C doesn't think it's a very good place to put one so if/when I apply for another job and have an interview that it maybe seen and frowned upon. I have told him that when it needs to be covered I could always wear a bigger chunky style bracelet that would cover it.
What are your alls thoughts on this.

Re: What are your thoughts on........
But what about after an interview if you get the job? If they would frown upon it in the interview, then they would probably frown upon it as an employee. I feel like you would always need to keep it covered at work.
I like them, but I would never get one for professional reasons. I would never get a tattoo that could ever be seen in the work place.
I think they look cool on other people (and wouldn't be frowned upon at my job) but I personally don't think I'd ever want a tattoo. I'd be afraid that I'd stop liking it at some point and then be stuck.
One of our Nesties has wrist tattoos that I think look fabulous!
I do like them. I would worry that I would get tired of the design I chose though.
A girl I know is a photographer and has the word smile tattooed on her wrist so that when she's taking a pic you can see it. I think it is really cute, for her.
I think that's why I like them so much. It's like this cool little pop of suprise that you aren't expecting to see.
I knew that Pinksprkl had one but didn't realize you had one also. Which goes to show they aren't always that conspicuous.
I really want one but I'm a pansy when it comes to needles.
Me too!! No one ever noticed mine and when they finally do they look surprised that they had never seen it before. Mine is easily covered by my watch at work too, not that I try to hide it though.
This is what my thinking has always been. We have a couple of students who work for us and if they would have shown it to me I wouldn't even have noticed it. I am pretty sure when I get my next tattoo it will be a wrist one.
thank you all for your input you reassured me that they are not bad and that no one will really notice it and it can be easily covered when needed.
To answers the bolded ?. I would probably just wear bracelet all the time or long sleeves to cover it. I highly doubt I would get fired for not covering since would be very tasteful.
I'm totally not trying to be rude, just giving you something to think about: Your idea of tasteful may not be everyone's idea of tasteful. I can think of several of my clients that would be cool with a tasteful tattoo, and several who would not be cool with it no matter what the tattoo is of.
Also, it depends on the position you intend to hold with a company. Our graphic artists have much more freedom in what they choose to see as "business casual" than I do. One artist has her nose pierced and one has a tattoo that is visable on her foot. This would be a big no-no for someone in my position (not that I run the company or anything).
Again, not trying to be rude, because I do like them and would consider getting one myself.
I lurv mine. Of course, I don't really have to worry about (in)appropriate tattoos in my line of work. I did have them when I worked my "corporate job" though and they are great conversation starters.
I think your average "suits" are more freaky than most people realize... There can be a LOT going on underneath a white button-down, long-sleeved shirt.
