Beastie Boys fans? Tigers?

I watched Fight for Your Right Revisited last night. Seven months behind the times. Has anyone else seen this? Am I the only person who was living under a rock?

I thought it was good. Some low brow humor and a couple slow parts but mostly awesome music and a pretty hilarious look at what went on after the party in the "Fight for Your Right"  video ended. A ton of cameos and a little cowbell, too.

ETA: Links probably NSFW

If you have 30 minutes, here is a link for the full length video:

Re: Beastie Boys fans? Tigers?

  • He He.  I loved it. I have watched it numerous times, just picking out all the cameos is fun.

On a related noted, me signing Paul Revere is one of the few ways to calm baby J down during one of his screaming fits.  He really loves it if Scott and I make a duet out of it.  (That has gotten us through a few long drives).   I am raising a mini Beastie lover I guess.

Oh I love that you figured that out about Baby J. He is super cool and has excellent taste in music!

I loooove Paul Revere.  :)   My sister and I used to sing it duet-style all the time.  So cute that baby J loves.  Ha.

  • Not a HUGE where I have stuck with them over the years but I definitely like the Rick Rubin stuff like License to Ill.  Even though I don't like all of their stuff, I think overall they are incredibly talented, innovative, and entertaining.  I will definitely watch that video and share with my brother.  Thanks!!!

PS, My radio show keeps talking about a book called "I want my MTV" that I am going to get for my brother.  Just a lot of behind the scenes from the early years.

For example, FF this video from the MTV video music awards to 1:10 and watch for a few seconds.  Take a wild guess as to what was so important that he had to pick it up during his performance.

  • This week, Henry has discovered Brass Monkey, changing his life forever.

Thanks for posting the link.  If it's NSFW, it's probably NSFH&W either, eh? ;)  I'll watch later.

I think it is "safe for anywhere" unless you'll get in trouble for being on you tube at work :-).  At least from the 1:10 to 1:20 mark.  I didn't watch the whole thing.

I like that Henry is starting his musical interests off right.

    Oh Bobby, Bobby, Bobby.

Ya know, it could have been anything. The combination to his locker back stage or a valuable coupon, perhaps.

If you like the Rick Rubin stuff, you will appreciate the video.

A semi-related story to share- I forgot my ipod at home and only had my phone with music to listen to. I put my old ear buds in it and started my workout. Intergalactic started playing and it sounded a little off to me. About 30 seconds in I realized that the sound I heard was coming from the phone speaker, not the ear buds. Oops. At least it was the Beastie Boys.

Literally on the to-do list for the weekend.  There will likely be a fair amount of raising the roof.

    OMG, I cannot wait.

I suspect you'll make my Monday and give me a much needed study break.

  • Not Beastie Boys, but they play Who Let the Dogs out at daycare, which I wasn't aware of until Allison sang "Who let the dogs out, woof, woof" over and over again on our walk home from the library.

Contact.  I think his contact fell out.  Woah, he was smooth on the pickup.

Dang! He must be blind to need a "contact" that big! LOL!

  • I just watched it.  And laughed and laughed and laughed.  And then the zippers came down, and then I cringed and cringed and cringed.  Ew.

I'm willing myself to forget that.

    Everything else though?  Fantasatic.
