Teachers and Parents: Midwinter break
I think they used to call it President's Break and it was some time in February.
Does a midwinter break still happen in schools? Does anyone know, typically, when this break is?
I'm tring to take advantage of one of H's work discounts for a trip to Disneyland in February, but I'm trying to avoid winter break too.
Thanks!
Re: Teachers and Parents: Midwinter break
I think it varies by district and region. It's more common in places where people can go skiing.
The Seattle School District has Feb 20th-24th off for midwinter break. EDIT: the LAUSD takes a day off for President's day, but not a full week off.

I never understood winter break, and I come from a place where it snows...a ton. And has a real snowy winter.
In AK we got Christmas to New Years, a 3 day weekend for Presidents day and then Spring break in March/April.

Clearly they didn't care about our teachers which is why the same one that was throwing chalk and falling asleep when I was in second grade was still teaching when I was in college.
