Josh has a double ear infection and this one is BAD...The poor kid couldn't sleep at all last night due to the pressure...He is on meds (started last night) but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to help him sleep...It broke my heart last night trying to get him comfortable.
Re: Ear Infection Help
Can you try rocking him to sleep? Maybe laying on your chest, in an upright position, will help aleviate (sp??) some of the pressure on his ears. I know that won't be easy for you, but some sleep for him is better than none at all.
Poor Josh
I hope he's feeling better soon!
I have no idea, but I'm sorry he's sick
I had chronic ear infections from 8 mo until I got tubes and my adnoids removed at 4 yrs. Even as an adult I get them on occasion and it sucks.
Try rocking with him with warm compresses against his ears. You can also try putting a pillow under his mattress to elevate it to an incline which may help the fluids drain away and hopefully help to reduce the pressure that he is feeling.
Poor thing, I hope he gets better soon!
This may sound crazy, but you could try a blow dryer on the lowest setting and blowing just behind the ear. Obviously you don't want it too close to burn him, but the heat sometimes helps relieve the pressure...
Reading Jules post, that might be easier...
Take him to the chiropractor. He could be out of alignment, which causes fluid to back up in the ear canal, which leads to ear infections.
Levi was getting chronic ear infections and has been going to the chiropractor since January and we've had no ear infections since starting it.
