Breaking Dawn, anyone?

Like usual, I was at the midnight opening with all the screaming tweens.

And I have to say... that was quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen.  I love the Twilight series.  I know they're not great cinema or anything... but I enjoy them.  They're occassionally corny and overdone, but never enough where I'm actually laughing and mocking.

Yeah, there was laughing and mocking occurring this time.  It was SO horrible.  Just so poorly done.  The CGI was just SAD and scenes like the wolves speaking to each other was probably the worst.

And I swear, the acting got WORSE in this movie.  It's all the same actors, they've had 3 movies to up their craft... and I swear most of them acted like they're fresh off their high school's production of Grease!

TOTALLY not worth the burning eyes this morning. But I still enjoyed the experience.

Re: Breaking Dawn, anyone?

  • I don't have anything to add about Twilight, but I remember always being SO excited when they released movies at 12:01 and I would go to the first showing. Although I did fall asleep during one of the Lord of the Rings movies because it was so long.
  • Just because I have seen the other ones, I have to see this one.

Teen daughter and I are going on Sunday.

I'm not sure if the teens thought it was totally fantastic or awful.  The fact that we were laughing our azzes off and doing our own version of the dialogue through the entire thing and nobody so much as looked at us, makes me think that they know it was bad too.  And we're people who previously sat REVERENTLY through the movie and shushed other people because we didn't want to miss a thing.

Like my friend said "I'm actually embarrassed to be sitting here".  And once again, not because it was Twilight and we're 30... but because of how horrible the movie was.

  • Well, this should come as no surprise considering the first 3 were god awful.

I loved the books, but this book was by far the worst in the series. I can just imagine Kristen Stewart's atrocious acting while trying to play a pregnant woman with a vampire baby in her.

  • That's what's so bad about it Joce... I LIKED the other three.  So it's not like I'm some picky azzhole who is critical of movies.  That shows you JUST how bad this one was.

Agreed. I was laughing threw this book. Breaking Dawn was so off the wall compared to the others. I'm sure the movie is going to be 100xs funnier.

  • Considering that I literally laughed out loud when Edward sparkled for the first time, I think I'll stay away from this one.

Which reminds me, I finally saw the last HP movie a few days ago.  I never read the books (only saw the movies), but I fvcking cried man.  Twice.

    This is my siggy.

My 15 year old isn't even excited to go see the movie.  Except for Taylor.  Madly in love with him.  She keeps saying how the movies suck compared to the books.  (I have not read any of the books).

  • Well, thanks a lot, imoan. You just ruined it for the rest of us.

I'm just kidding. I will see this movie if and when it appears on a very long flight that I am taking and I have seen everything else. That's how I saw the first one. I think it was the first one. That chick is so effing broody.

I agree with everything that muddled said. You should listen to her. -ESDReturns
  • I'm concerned about your daughter, MrsD.

  • Watched it last night. The two teenagers I was with (my niece and her BFF) loved it. I actually laughed less through the movie than I did through the book. I was glad they took out a lot of the really stupid/extraordinarily boring and pointless parts of the book.

  • Kristin Stewart's acting makes me want to gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon.  She makes Keanu Reeves look positively expressive.

If I wanted to hear the pitter-patter of little feet, I'd put shoes on the cat. image

  • I actually think KStew gets the award for Most Improved Acting in a Twilight Franchise Film for this one. Bella was actually NOT sullen and was actually comical at times. Almost like a real 18 year old human being.

  • I don't do lines and crowds anyway, so combining that with lines and crowds of teenage girls, at midnight on a weekday.  Well, that's my personal version of hell on earth.
