My Breaking Dawn Pt 1 Review - PERFECT!

ETA: A more detailed review, now that I slept for 4 hours.

Well ladies, I am beyond satisfied. This movie, in my eyes, is by far the best. I am so shocked that I am saying that. The fail boat of a book SM wrote was amazing on screen.

Let's just say, Edward loves his woman and RPatz loves KStew, and it shows on screen finally! The writing, the acting were so much more confident. Through the wedding and honeymoon, for the first time, we see Edward and Bella happily together.

The music was amazing! It was increadibly perfect how they used songs from Twilight throughout this movie; an added layer of emotion for the true fans.

The wedding put Kate and Will to shame, everything was beautiful. And the dress - AH! STUNNING on KStew's bod, Pippa move over.

There were moments that had me laughing hard too, and not in the cheesy frolic through the woods New Moon kind of way. This one definitely had more humor than all the rest.

I thought they took the mess of c-section/imprinting Stephenie Meyer created and did wonders with it. The birth scene, how sickly they made Bella look (It's gross really!), and seeing poor Edward trying to bring her back. Heartwrenching and Brilliant.

Then the END ... PEFECT!!

  • Ahhhhhh, I can't wait!! This is exactly the review I was hoping for!
  • Your review makes me even more anxious to go see it. We are going on sunday.

  • ahh want to see! Need to find a time soon for MIL/FIL to babysit so I can drag DH with me...or just go alone...maybe.
  • So funny because my FB feed this morning was lots of friends, like you, who are huge fans and saw it last night.

Then another entry from my friend whose husband is a movie critic and his review?  Someone less stellar, to say the least, lol.

  • Trickey, you nailed it! I LOVED it. I was really wary because I thought the book ws a fail boat as well. But somehow they managed to get it right on screen and it exceeded my highest expectations! DH was a good sport and went with me last night. He thought it was "ok". haha!

I'm Team Jacob so the imprinting pissed me off constantly while reading the book. But when watching it last night? They made it seem so much better.

Now we have to wait for Part 2? Seriously???? lol

  • Ahhh! I cannot wait either. I am going on Tuesday because tickets are $3 off on Tuesdays. :)
  • You're review is WAY better than the one I heard on my local radio station. I'm not going til next week after work though. I'm so excited now.
  • Trickey...I meant to ask, did you stay through the credits? Smile

    yes I did.

I was wondering where that scene was, as well as the one where they were showing fighting between Jake and Eddie boy

Nice! Yeah, where is that fight? Did they just cut it?

  • I didn't like it too much... until the last 15 mintues.

But the first half of BD was way boring to me anyway, so I didn't expect too much.

Did you notice SM in the first wedding aisle scene from Bella's perspective?

She was gorgeous at the wedding. I have to admit.

And I like how the honeymoon scenes were tastefully done.

I think the wolf scene (the 2 alpha one) was horrible... that could have been done in a way less cheesy way.

I think overall, the actors seemed so confident that they were almost mocking their roles at times.

Anyway... the ending made me almost pee my pants, and I CAN'T wait for part 2!
