Goals for the remainder of 2011: Stick to Half Marathon training plan, count calories, maybe lose 5 pounds.
AWs from the past week? I ran an 11k Friday! It was my first race longer than a 5k. It was a blast! The weather couldn't have been better and it was in the evening in the dark which kept things interesting. It went through the ghetto which also made it interesting. There were so many people and kids sitting outside watching all the runners. A few kids stood on the side of the big sidewalk chanting "You can do it" over and over and giving everyone high fives. It was so cute! I was hoping to get semi-close to 1hr 15m, but figured it would be closer to 1hr20m-1hr25m. But, I crossed the line at about 1:13:15!! I'm still waiting for my official chip time.
Did you stick to your plan last week? Nope. I didn't do my strength training and I cut my 3 mile run down to 2 miles because I was exhausted. Ugh, I'm so bad at sticking to a plan.
Problems/Struggles? Finding the motivation to do strength training and cross training. I usually get all of my runs in, but it's hard for me to get to the gym for everything else.
Do you have any favorite H&F related quotes? "The body achieves what the mind believes"
Favorite music to listen to while working out? I like the Needtobreathe Pandora station. I also like the Fall Out Boy Pandora station because most of the songs are at the perfect tempo to run with. I tend to try to run in rhythm with the music.
What's your H&F plan for this week? M: Speedwork. T: Legs/Back strength training. W: 3 mile run. R: Arms and Back strength training. F: Crosstraining. Sa: 5 mile run. Su: Rest.

AWs from the past week? I went to a cycling class at the new gym, and really enjoyed it. I had Special K for dinner a few nights, and did better at portion control.
Did you stick to your plan last week? Not really.
Problems/Struggles? New gym kind of sucks. It's too crowded right now. I got all dressed and ready to go to a cycling class on Wednesday, and even though I left work downtown at 4:30, I didn't make the 5:30 class. When I did get there, there were NO parking spots left. I'm really struggling to find motivation to go, when it's too crowded and difficult to get to.

Favorite music to listen to while working out? Whatever's playing in the gym, usually. I have a shuffle, but I can't find it, and I can't do much with my iPhone, b/c I don't have an arm strap or anything.
What's your H&F plan for this week? I was at my parents' house last weekend, and browsed through an issue of Prevention magazine. It had a plan for a week that included little body weight exercises per day, and a plan for walking. Probably a total of 1 hr/day. I think I'm going to try that out this week. It supposedly guarantees that you'll lose one dress size in two weeks. I'm skeptical.
I have been horrible... I haven't done anything. I thought everything would slow down but it hasn't. Plus side my weeks are still flying by so getting that much closer China which is really all I can focus on right now. I have been thinking about running and working out more than normal though so can that count, lol.
Really hope everyone else is doing way better than I am, so keep up the good work.

Problems/Struggles? I feel like I'm so busy these days that I don't have time to breathe, let alone exercise or focus on eating right. I need to carve out time better.

Favorite music to listen to while working out? I love an upbeat mix with good beats. My playlist goes from the 1930's to present. Crazy, I know.
What's your H&F plan for this week? Run! I just need to run at least once to get back on that wagon. One step at a time.

Goals for the remainder of 2011: Complete through Stage 2 of NROLFW
AWs from the past week? I am so freaking sore right now from the gym Sunday and it feels GOOD.
Did you stick to your plan last week? I only got two lifting sessions in and didn't run at all, so no.
Problems/Struggles? I am way too busy. Between the 2 jobs and volunteer stuff, I can't find a lot of time. And lately I've been a little depressed and it's affecting my motivation.
Do you have any favorite H&F related quotes? No, but I have a quote I HATE that I see on pinterest occasionally, "Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels." - Kate Moss. So dumb. It's possible to be healthy and eat enjoyable food.
Favorite music to listen to while working out? Mostly rap (the angrier the better) and hip-hop. My playlist is a lot of Jay-Z, Eminem, Linkin Park, Rihanna, etc. With I Just Had Sex and I'm on a Boat from SNL thrown in for some laughs.
What's your H&F plan for this week? Lift Thursday evening, run Friday night, lift Saturday.
Goals for the remainder of 2011: Finish stage 4 of NROLFW, swim 1-2x/week, barely break a sweat hiking next week while H pants like crazy
AWs from the past week?I just finished stage 3 of NROLFW today! Last week I went for a 4 mile walk and actually was able to run a solid 1/4 mile without stopping, just to see if I could.
Did you stick to your plan last week? for the most part- it was mainly a rest week, and I ate reasonable portion sizes even though some of my meals weren't the healthiest (I was out of town and was eating in restaurants all week).
Problems/Struggles? The increments for the weights at the gym are a little too much to go up in weight, but the current weights are getting too easy for some exercises. I tried a dumbbell bench press Saturday with a heavier weight, and ended up dropping a 30lb dumbbell on my forehead. Ouch. Luckily no one was around to see.
Do you have any favorite H&F related quotes? As some of the people on the H&F board are fond of saying, "Motivation is overrated. Just get out and do it already."
Favorite music to listen to while working out? a mix of rock, modern rock, and top 40. I prefer the upbeat and/or angry songs.
What's your H&F plan for this week? Swim Friday and Sunday, lift Saturday and possibly Thursday (but probably only Saturday)

Did you stick to your plan last week? Mostly. The rain messed me up for my run on Monday though, so i only got two in.
Problems/Struggles? I am really slow with my runs. I got the GPS app on my C25K app, and it tracks how fast I am and where I'm going. I'm depressingly slow - like, 12 minutes per mile slow on the runs. I also feel like I'm hitting kind of a wall with week 5.
Do you have any favorite H&F related quotes? Hm. Not that I can think of.
Favorite music to listen to while working out? Prince, Britney, Depeche Mode.
What's your H&F plan for this week? Run MWF, introduce some light weights TR.
My gym is fairly close to where you live, if I recall correctly. The workout floor has never been overly crowded, but I'm not sure how robust their class offerings are. I've never been to any.
I want to be able to fit into most of my work clothing. Pants are tight. I am doing Ripped in 30 by Jillian Michaels and walking. I ran a mile at 5 weeks pp, but it is hard to find the time with LO.
I can fit in all my work dresses and skirts. My shirts fit.
I struggle with trying to fit in the time with a new baby. I have never lost weight like this before so it is frustrating to see the pounds go away so slowly.
The positive is that I have less than 9 lbs to go.
My plan for this week is to continue to do the DVD and walk. It is going to be hard next week since it is the holidays.
AWs from the past week? I've started tracking my eating on My Fitness Pal again and started doing at least a short workout in the evenings.
Did you stick to your plan last week? I really just got started.
Problems/Struggles? I've gained 4 pounds since the last time I used the Wii fit. Although, the last time I used the Wii fit was over 6 months ago, so it should not have been surprising. For the record, I don't think the Wii fit is the most awesome work out tool, but it's better than doing nothing at all.

Did you stick to your plan last week? I stuck with my workout plan. Food is always a struggle but I didn't do too bad.
Problems/Struggles? Food. It's just so yummy, but I have gotten a lot better about what I choose and how much I choose.
Do you have any favorite H&F related quotes? There's a quote that I really like, but I cannot think of a word of it at the moment. Maybe I don't like it that much. haha
Favorite music to listen to while working out? Something upbeat. I usually just listen to whatever is playing on p90x and my friend and I talk. I need to make a playlist for when I run though.
What's your H&F plan for this week? Do p90x every day except Sunday, possible add some cardio on the days we lift, stay within my calorie goal, lose 1-2 pounds
