just curious: how many holiday cards do you send out?
I just ordered our Christmas cards for this year and had to get 140 of them (although the list is only about 130, but I wanted a few extras). Also, my DH owns a business so about 25 of them go to his clients, but still it seems like alot of cards.
Every year I try to decide who I can cut out to make the list smaller, and this year I was only able to eliminate about 3 of them.. LOL
Is this a crazy amount of Christmas cards to be sending out? How many do you send out in a typical year?
Re: just curious: how many holiday cards do you send out?
The number changes almost every year, but it's usually in the 30-40ish range.
80 This year, probably 90 next year.
Wow - I feel ashamed ...
I counted 13 yesterday ....
I was wondering where to begin on these. My H and I just got married 2 weeks ago and considered sending out Christmas cards to every guest we invited to the wedding, but it's just going to get over the top especially since I am hand making the cards myself!
Maybe I should go back and reconsider the list though...
This is what we did the first Christmas after we were married (sent them out to everyone that attended our wedding). I keep track of who we receive cards from each Christmas, and those are the ones that we will keep sending to...unless they are family or close friends, or elderly people that don't send out cards, we still send them to those people anyway.
Do you think it would be appropriate to send the hand-made cards to immediate family/bridal party and generic ones to everyone else?
I send about 130 out as well.
my read shelf:
Usually about 40. I used to send out a lot to casual acquaintances, but over time the circle of my acquaintances has come to include many people who don't celebrate Christmas, and it seems weird to send cards to them, even generically "winter" ones, because there is not a reciprocal holiday on which they send cards back to me. It's not tit-for-tat exactly -- it just feels weird to foist a picture of my kids on another family when they don't have a tradition of doing that at any time of the year.
Anyway, it's just our very closest friends, close family, and old skool distant relatives who get cards from us.
