1. Where are you spending Thanksgiving? At home. We never travel for Thanksgiving, people tend to come to us.
2. Favourite dish? Recipes are always nice... None, really, unless we're counting pumpkin pie.
3. Do you do the Black Friday shopping thing? Nope.
4. Is Thanksgiving a source of stress for you or a source of comfort? Any drama you're worried about this year? It's nothing, really. I've never "gotten" Thanksgiving--it's not celebrated in Mexico, so my parents' attempt to celebrate always seemed a bit half-hearted. It was stressful when I was growing up because my mom made me do a ton of chores for the holiday while my dad, sister and brothers sat around doing nothing. No drama expected this year.
5. Any special holiday decor? Just pumpkin spice candles.1. Where are you spending Thanksgiving? We will be going to IL's first and then my Grandma's after that.
2. Favourite dish? Green bean casserole and pumpkin pie cheesecake Recipes are always nice...
3. Do you do the Black Friday shopping thing? YES! My sisters, mom, and I go every year. We are serious Black Friday shoppers, after dinner every year we go through the ads together and make a shopping game plan and map out when and where we are going and what we're getting. It's more for fun then the good deals!
4. Is Thanksgiving a source of stress for you or a source of comfort? Any drama you're worried about this year? Comfort now, but I'm sure if I ever hosted it would be a lot more stressful.
5. Any special holiday decor? Since my MIL wouldn't let me do any of the cooking I asked her if I could handle the table setting for her this year. I made a pretty centerpiece with candles and pine cones. I also made some really pretty place setting cards and napkin rings. I haven't finished the kid table stuff yet, but I'm making Thanksgiving coloring place mats for them and I need to come up with a centerpiece for their table.
1. Where are you spending Thanksgiving? We'll go to my SIL's house first and then we go to my parent's house after that. My IL's eat early and my family eats later so it works out perfectly for us.
2. Favourite dish? Recipes are always nice...I love ham and pecan pie, neither of which I make.
3. Do you do the Black Friday shopping thing? No and I have no interest in doing so.
4. Is Thanksgiving a source of stress for you or a source of comfort? Any drama you're worried about this year? For me it's mostly comfort. I don't have to host Thanksgiving and I most likely won't for a long time. My SIL's don't like to spend their holidays with anyone besides their parents, siblings and nieces and nephew so it is highly unlikely that I'll ever host both our families at our house.
5. Any special holiday decor? I've started decorating for fall and Thanksgiving though pretty soon I'll start putting out the Christmas decorations. I'm so excited that we have a bigger place and can finally have a big Christmas tree.1. Where are you spending Thanksgiving? At home. We host now, because I like to eat good food. Who doesn't season their food? Seriously?
2. Favourite dish? Recipes are always nice...I love pecan pie. It's a recipe I just pull offline every year. We're also doing the bacon scones someone posted on Aug. blog last year.
3. Do you do the Black Friday shopping thing?YES! My BFF and I go every year. Sometimes we just putter around. This year DH is heading to get our DSLR and I'll be hunting for random deals I like.
4. Is Thanksgiving a source of stress for you or a source of comfort? Any drama you're worried about this year?Comfort usually. This year I'll be up early to watch the parade and play with Jackson while DH starts the cooking.
5. Any special holiday decor? None. I have nowhere to stash holiday decor, so we pretty much only have Christmas, and that fits in 2 boxes in the guest room closet. I wish we had more.
1. Where are you spending Thanksgiving? At the ILs in New Mexico
2. Favourite dish? Recipes are always nice... My daughters want all the standard comfort foods - green bean casserole, rolls, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, turkey. I'm going to make the butter turkey I tasted at a cooking class last week. And I'm famous for my mashed potatoes: I start with the Yukon gold potatoes (leave the peel on), then add milk, cream cheese, butter, garlic, Italian seasoning, and some grated Parmesan cheese when mashing. They're awesome. (mashing squishes all the calories out, doesn't it?)
3. Do you do the Black Friday shopping thing? Not possible at the ILs - they live in a town of 7,000 people and there are no decent stores. I do enjoy a little gallery there - local artisans.
4. Is Thanksgiving a source of stress for you or a source of comfort? Any drama you're worried about this year? The only stress is that DH's kids won't have anything to do with us (they'd rather be with their family, according to them). It makes me angry because DH would (and has) done everything and anything for them, and they treat him like crap. It makes him so sad.
5. Any special holiday decor? I have a big basket of mini pumpkins and gourds on the table right now, and I have a reversible holiday runner and napkins that I like - fall on one side and Christmas on the other.
2. Favourite dish? Recipes are always nice... Cranberry sauce shaped like the can. The recipe is: buy the can, open it, put it on a plate.
3. Do you do the Black Friday shopping thing? I never have, although E did one year and got a ton of great stuff, including all 3 seasons of Arrested Development for like $25
4. Is Thanksgiving a source of stress for you or a source of comfort? Any drama you're worried about this year? Comfort, it's my favorite holiday! No stress this year, just food, football and wine.
5. Any special holiday decor? I'm still working on decor in general, so holiday decor is out. Once Thanksgiving passes though and we're a bit more settled, I'm Christmassing the crap out of this place.
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
1. Where are you spending Thanksgiving?
This year we are spending it with my mom. I'm actually quite new to this celebration because in Mexico we normally don't have a Thanksgiving. This year my MIL will be out of town so my mom and I will have to host so DH won't have to miss out on Thanksgiving.
2. Favourite dish? Recipes are always nice...
Pecan pie
3. Do you do the Black Friday shopping thing?
Last year my mom and I went and found some good deals without such a big hassle so we are definitely doing it this year.
4. Is Thanksgiving a source of stress for you or a source of comfort? Any drama you're worried about this year?
It's always sort of a relaxing holiday for us. No drama for us.
5. Any special holiday decor?
I just like to decorate the house is fall decor and warm colors.
1. Where are you spending Thanksgiving?
A: If BF doesn't have to work then we're going to his friend's mom's house, then (maybe) to my mom's. If he is working, then I'll just spend the day at my mom's.
2. Favourite dish? Recipes are always nice...
A: All of it! We don't do anything different than the usual turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, and candied yams.
3. Do you do the Black Friday shopping thing?
A: No.
4. Is Thanksgiving a source of stress for you or a source of comfort? Any drama you're worried about this year?
A: Comfort. I'm lucky, my family isn't into drama. Even if we're arguing with each other, we get over it in time for the holidays. [Free] Food brings people together, right?
5. Any special holiday decor?
A: Nope
1. Here; we are hosting.
2. Sweet potato souffle. I think I put it on the August Cooks blog last year.
3. I did before I moved up here. I think it's just too crazy here under the best of circumstances, so I haven't yet.
4. No drama now that Jim got the day off.
5. Nothing special for Thanksgiving. I do have a turkey welcome sign on my front door.

1. Where are you spending Thanksgiving?
We are going to my familys this year.
2. Favourite dish? Recipes are always nice... I love deviled eggs
3. Do you do the Black Friday shopping thing? No I don't. I use to when I was younger but I stopped when my neice was about a year old when some lady took a toy right out of her hands and shrugged it off when my sister asked her to give it back to the crying girl. those people are crazy.
4. Is Thanksgiving a source of stress for you or a source of comfort? Any drama you're worried about this year? this year it is a source of stress because my client (my only source of income) is taking two weeks to go to virginia leaving me high and dry for christmas gift money. we will have to make due with my husbands Wal-mart wages
5. Any special holiday decor? I have a happy harvest sign on my door but my husband is not big on decor he says alot of it is tacky
