Marriage counselor req, specializing in family planning issues
Can anyone recommend a marriage counselor (in the greater Seattle area) who specializes in family planning issues?
ETA: oops! apparently fertility is meant for people who aren't pregnant and want to be pregnant. I asked my friend to ask her therapist for a rec and I started telling her that I wanted to see someone for "fertility issues" and she was so confused, given what she knows about me. And, so I said "yeah, I'm fertile and I wish not to be?" Apparently I should be asking for someone who can deal with marital/family planning issues.

We're not getting a divorce... yet.
I think I may have found a good combo for permanent bc and I want us to go talk to a counselor before I do anything permanent. I really want to make sure that we're on the same page with all of this and that we're both 100% on board.
yikes.. i'm sorry uw.
but if you both are serious about it, why the need for intervention? or a 3rd party? you just want them to confirm you're serious?
No need to be sorry guys! Seriously, nothing is wrong between me and H right now.
I was completely kidding about the divorce joke.
Yes, we're both sure that we don't want kids, but I want to make sure that we're both considering every since angle and detail before I move forward with something permanent... since I can't undo it. I figured that a counselor is more of an expert in dealing with this and may think of things that we haven't.
gotcha.
Maybe call the women's health center at UW Medical and ask them for recommendations? I don't know any personally, though.
And I think you're idea is just SUPER smart! Yes, you both think you're on the same page, but way to think ahead to forestall any potential pitfalls!
This is a good idea too.
I got one name, from my friend's therapist, and I was going to ask my gno for recs, but I want to interview a few people before I decide on someone.
Thanks!
