Anyone watching Project Accessory?

It's kind of a snooze for me. Am I missing something? I'm watching while I wait for PR All-Stars but might not even bother anymore.

Re: Anyone watching Project Accessory?

  • We DVR'ed the first episode. I've taken jewelry classes before so I was interested in seeing that aspect of it, but I thought it was really dull.  We ditched it after that first episode.

We plan to watch PR all-stars.  When does it start?  I'm excited to see Austin and Anthony and Mondo again.  Although awful Kenley kind of ruins the whole thing for me.  And if Mondo doesn't win this time around, I'm breaking up with PR altogether.

  • I watch the episodes on demand and usually fast-forward through most of it.  I like some of the jewelry, but can't stand the 45 minutes of talking and stressing over the creation of the pieces.
  • No, I watched three episodes last night and it put me to sleep.  None of them seem that fantastic and the guest judges aren't really that exciting since most of them design clothes and have accessory lines as a spin-off.  I also can't stand the woman they have interviewing in the work room.  She is annoying and really doesn't give any real feedback.
  • PR All Stars was supposed to start 11/3 but they bumped it to 2012.

  • I've been watching. I agree that their mentor is really dull and doesn't give advice at all. Molly Sims is a surprisingly bad host, and the "theme song" (not really, but what do you call the intro?) is just laughable, but I'm still enjoying the show. I think it's really interesting to watch them weld jewelry and to think about the process of creating a bag or shoes. My favorites are Nina, Christina, and Rich.
  • I guess I wish they'd show more about the construction process, especially since all the tools and basic skills are so different than on regular Project Runway. On both shows my gripe is that they focus too much on the creation of drama, both with the ridiculous time constraints and the focus on personalities and conflict. I do not care that blonde girl talks too much. I don't care that camel toe girl is too negative. What are they making and why? Show me that. Let these talented people work and really compete against each other, not the clock, and the show would be a lot better.

And yeah, it's not the same without Tim Gunn. He is a huge part of what is good about Project Runway.

I'm looking forward to Allstars, but I'm afraid Lifetime is really killing this show. They are killing the challenges by rushing the production to death. And they are killing the spirit by selling out to what line they can peddle the easiest instead of what is really the best.

Agreed 100%.  This past season made us not want to bother watching anymore.  That's why Mondo doesn't win this time, that will be the last straw.
