I will be making things for upcoming craft fair and was wondering what ya'll do to prepare. It will be baby-realted things. Crocheted hats, diaper covers, tutus and headbands.
How do you price your items?
How many do you make?
How much cash do you start with?
Any other tips?? Thanks!
Re: Craft Fair
I usually have too many things made. You can't sell it if you don't have it.
If it's a small show, I have 50$ in ones and fives. I price things on even dollars to prevent using change.
I also make sure I have some quiet music playing...draws people to the booth and keeps me from getting bored.
Try to work on your craft during the show. People will ask about it
Have loads of business cards available.
Take custom orders and offer free shipping if they pay during the show. Make pre made forms for custom orders with a tear off portion for the customer. It works great. Put it on a clipboard.
Display is a big factor. Have lots of levels. Invest in floor length table cloths (a king size sheet will do)
I always use clamps. I have a big bag of them. I use them to clamp down table cloths, hang signs, hang a trash bag.
You'll need a supply bag with things like extra tags, pens, scissors, tape, duct tape, batteries, calculator, receipt book, string
The flickr group "show me your booth" is a great place to get ideas.
