I already knew before getting pg again that I would need to have a c/s. My first appointment isn't until 11/29...yeah they were that booked. Anyway, anyone who uses Premier...Dr. Schmidt in particular, how does it work? Is there certain days they don't schedule them?Do you get an option of a couple of days?
This last time i was sent in because I was being induced ( needed an emergency c/s anyway) and they called the hospital and they told us when to go, no options.
We're trying to plan some things for around the tie Lo would be born and didn't know if we already bought the tickets now, whether we would get any choice in the birth matter.
TIA

Re: scheduling an c/s
my photography blog
I realize it most likely won't get scheduled until it's much closer to the time. I just didn't know if there anyone who had a scheduled C/S was given a choice of dates/times.
I figured with the induction, who knew how long it would take from there so it was more about getting me in to get me started. Plus the reason behind me being induced was starting to be rather pressing. My fluid was quickly disappearing.
I know I won't be allowed to go pretty much a day over 40 weeks. I was told that last time. Just didn't know if anyone could provide specifics.
As far as I know from people who have had them scheduled you do get to chose the day and time depending on their schedule (some only do them m/w/f by schedule, etc). I think most aim for 39 weeks or close to it so you go as long as possible but not over.
My doctor is Patronella. She was extremely flexible and worked with me a great deal when it came time to schedule my c-section. I asked if I could get on her schedule early (I believe I was around 25-26 weeks when we set the date) and she had no problems with that. I asked if we could do it on Friday or Monday (gave her two dates) and she said earlier in the week was better so we had it set for Monday.....although, I never made it to that date. She schedules the surgery early in the morning though. I didn't get a choice on the time.
Although they can be flexible on the dates, they really don't like to schedule the surgery before 39 weeks (maybe a day but no more). I know their office gets really busy and books up fast, so talk to her about it. Let her know what you have in mind and I'm sure she would be willing to work with you.
