KIndle

Does anyone have an ereader and how do you like it?  I have been looking at the Kindle and think that I want to ask for the basic model for Christmas that is about $80. I wanna  make sure this is a good gift request.

Re: KIndle

  • I'm no help about the Kindle specifically.  I got the Nook back in June for my birthday.

I have the 2nd gen Nook that was new this summer.  I know the price has gone down since then.  It isn't the color, so I just read books on it.  No apps or crazy stuff like that.  It is a touch screen and has a crazy long battery life.  I have transferred ebooks that I owned previously onto it that are ePub or pdf files.  I also use Overdrive from the library's website to read ebooks from them.

If you want, the book club board has a book bio with ereader FAQs.  You can also ask girls on that board who own Kindles specific questions.

Let me know if you have more questions.

  • My Kindle is my best friend. I love it. His name is Einstein. I have the 3rd Gen 3G & WiFi version. Zero complaints. I've actually recruited four other family members to my Kindle account, so we all share books. It's great.

  • I love my Nook. It's the basic B&W version because I wanted it specifically for traveling so battery life was of utmost priority. When I researched it, the Kindle & the Nook appear to be pretty much the same thing, except with the Nook you can lend books.

Kindle has lending now, too. You can also get books from the library and if you get Amazon Prime, you can borrow books from Amazon, too.
